National League Round 9: Undefeated Edunburgh Kings lose their first game against Clark Eriksson Fury - Nov 19, 2012

National League is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 9 rounds left.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Edunburgh Kings (8-1) in Falkirk on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Clark Eriksson Fury (9-0) 95-72. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Edunburgh Kings. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 8-0 record before this meeting. Undefeated Clark Eriksson Fury have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Defending champion Edunburgh Kings keep the second position with one game lost. Clark Eriksson Fury are looking forward to face Boroughmuir (#5) in Edunburgh in the next round. Edunburgh Kings will play on the road against Dunfermline Reign and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Very significant was Boroughmuir's (#6) 68-62 road victory against 7th ranked Stirling K.. Boroughmuir (4-5) moved-up to fifth place. Stirling K. lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Boroughmuir will play against league's leader Clark Eriksson Fury in Falkirk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Stirling K. will play on the road against St.Mirren S. (#7) in St Mirren and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Glasgow Storm (0-9) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to third ranked Troon T. (6-3) 71-53 on Saturday evening. Troon T. maintains third place with 6-3 record having just three points less than leader C.Eriksson F., which they share with Glasgow Univ. Glasgow Storm lost their ninth game in a row. They still closes the standings with nine games lost. Troon T. will meet at home Glasgow Rocks II (#6) in the next round. Glasgow Storm's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Glasgow Glasgow.

In the last two games of round 9 St.Mirren S. lost to Glasgow Univ. on the opponent's court 82-87. Glasgow R. II managed to outperform Dunfermline R. in a home game 87-72.


Glasgow Univ. - St.Mirren S. 87-82

Rather expected game when 6th ranked St.Mirren S. (3-5) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Glasgow (6-3) 87-82 on Monday. The victory was the third consecutive win for Glasgow. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Troon T. St.Mirren S. at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Glasgow R. II. Glasgow's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Glasgow to the arena Glasgow Storm.

Stirling K. - Boroughmuir 62-68

Very significant was Boroughmuir's (#6) 68-62 road victory against 7th ranked Stirling K.. Boroughmuir (4-5) moved-up to fifth place. Stirling K. lost their third game in a row. (6-3) 71-53 on Saturday evening. Troon T. maintains third place with 6-3 record having just three points less than leader C.Eriksson F., which they share with Glasgow Univ. Glasgow R. II - Dunfermline R. 87-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Glasgow Rocks II's (3-5) home victory over 9th ranked Dunfermline Reign (2-7) 87-72 on Saturday. Glasgow Rocks II moved-up to sixth place, which they share with St.Mirren S. Dunfermline Reign at the other side keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Glasgow Rocks II will meet higher ranked Troon T. (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dunfermline Reign will play against the league's second-placed Edunburgh Kings (#2) and hope to secure a win.
