National League Round 15: Edunburgh Kings keep a leadership position - Feb 11, 2013

The Regular Season in National League is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Edunburgh Kings as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Edunburgh Kings smashed 7th ranked Glasgow Rocks II at home 121-57. Edunburgh Kings (14-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Glasgow Rocks II at the other side keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. Glasgow Rocks II will play next round against Boroughmuir trying to get back on the winning streak. Edunburgh Kings will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Stirling K. on the road.
Undefeated Clark Eriksson Fury (13-1) recorded its first loss in Falkirk. Hosts were edged by eighth ranked Stirling K. (4-11) 67-66. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of Clark Eriksson Fury. Stirling K. maintains eighth place with 4-11 record. Clark Eriksson Fury at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. Stirling K. will play against league's leader Edunburgh Kings at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Clark Eriksson Fury will play against Troon T. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Troon T. (10-5) against fifth ranked St.Mirren S. (7-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Troon T. was defeated by St.Mirren S. in a tough game in St Mirren 78-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Troon T.. The victory was the third consecutive win for St.Mirren S.. They maintain fifth place with 7-6 record. Loser Troon T. keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Glasgow Univ.. St.Mirren S. will meet bottom-ranked Glasgow Storm (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Troon T. will play against the league's second-placed Clark Eriksson Fury (#2) in Falkirk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Glasgow moved-up to third place, which they share with Troon T. Boroughmuir lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Glasgow will face Dunfermline Reign (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Boroughmuir will play against Glasgow Rocks II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.



St.Mirren S. - Troon T. 86-78

Bottom-ranked Dunfermline Reign managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of seven consecutive loses. This time they won against ninth-ranked Glasgow Storm 76-67. Dunfermline Reign (3-12) moved-up to ninth place. Glasgow Storm at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 12 games lost. Dunfermline Reign's next round opponent will be higher ranked Glasgow (#4) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Glasgow Storm will play against St.Mirren S. (#5) in St Mirren.
