We bring you last week's top performances from Scots who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Kieron Achara
Kieron Achara
#1. This week's number one is former international power forward Kieron Achara (208-83, agency: Two Points, college: Duquesne, currently plays in Greece). He was the major contributor in Kavala's surprising victory against the sixth-ranked Apollon Patras (8-9) 85-67 in the Greek A1 in Saturday night's game. Achara scored 17 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, passed 3 assists and added 2 blocks (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line) in 35 minutes on the court. Enosi Kalathosfairisis Kavalas (5-12) is placed second from the bottom (#13) in the A1. This year Achara averages: 9.3ppg, 4.1rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 63.6%(14-22), 3FGP: 56.3%(9-16) and FT: 83.3% in the seven games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Scottish and Nigerian. Achara played for the Scottish senior national team eight years ago.

Gareth Murray
Gareth Murray
#2. Second place goes to an international forward Gareth Murray (201-84, agency: Prossin Sports Management, college: Kalamazoo Valley CC, currently plays in United Kingdom). He contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Liverpool Mersey Tigers (0-23) crushing them 97-58 in the British BBL last Friday. Murray scored 6 points, grabbed 5 boards, passed 3 assists and added 3 steals. Glasgow Rocks (15-8) is placed third in the BBL. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Murray has relatively good stats this season: 12.8ppg, 6.1rpg, 3.5apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 50.4%, 3FGP: 34.0% and FT: 89.3%. He is in the roster of the Scottish senior national team.

Alasdair Fraser
Alasdair Fraser
#3. The Scottish player who performed third best last week abroad was former U18 international forward Alasdair Fraser (201-92, currently plays college basketball in the States). Fraser led Maine to a victory against the University at Albany 66-52 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. He recorded 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. The University of Maine has 5-7 conference record this season. There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season Fraser has relatively solid stats: 12.8ppg, 6.1rpg, 3.5apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 50.4%, 3FGP: 34.0% and FT: 89.3%. He played for the Scottish U18 national team three years ago.

Eoghan Dover
Eoghan Dover
#4. Swingman Eoghan Dover (185-89, currently plays in United Kingdom) managed to help Worcester Wolves in a victory against the league outsider Liverpool Mersey Tigers (0-23) crushing them 119-64 in the British BBL last Friday. Dover scored 5 points and added 3 passes in 16 minutes. Worcester Wolves (12-9) is placed sixth in the BBL. This year Dover's overall stats are: 2.4ppg and 1.4apg in the five games. Dale Grieve
Dale Grieve
#5. Former U18 international guard Dale Grieve (190-92, currently plays in United Kingdom) is a teammate of previously mentioned Gareth Murray and both played together in the last British BBL game. Grieve contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Liverpool Mersey Tigers (0-23) crushing them 97-58. He scored only 3 points. This season Grieve averages just 1.4ppg. He used to play for the Scottish U18 national team three years ago.

Alistair Mackay
Alistair Mackay
#6. Forward Alistair Mackay (211-91, currently studies in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Appalachian State University (6-7) crushing them 87-52 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. Mackay recorded only 2 points in 5 minutes on the court. The Davidson College has a very solid 13-1 conference record this season. It was his team's ninth consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Mackay averages just 1.4ppg in the seven games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Scottish National Team roster.

One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Scottish passport:

#1. Alex Marcotullio (190-G-91, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Northwestern (4-7) to beat the University of Iowa (5-6). Marcotullio recorded 8 points in 24 minutes. The Northwestern lost 57-71 on the road to the University of Iowa. It's Marcotullio's fourth season with the team. This year he has relatively solid stats: 12.8ppg, 6.1rpg, 3.5apg and 1.3spg in the 23 games he played so far. Marcotullio is a naturalized American. Strangely he has never played in Scotland.

Fury storm out of Mariner and on to Playoff Finals - 1 day ago
We headed to the Mariner Centre for one last time on Friday night for a Playoff Semi-Final between Sony Centre Fury and Glasgow Storm. With a Finals spot up for grabs, there was plenty at stake for both teams. Storm showed some nerves in the first quarter, getting off to a really slow start. Falkirk were able to capitalise on this with Keith Bunyan (191-G-77) lighting up behind the arc. Fury worked the ball well as a team and made Glasgow Storm work for extended periods on the defensive e...   [read more]
