First game of the Playoff Finals in Serbia just ended. Partizan Galenika started the title defense in style with huge 77-48 victory for 1-0 lead in the series. Milica Dabovic (175-PG-82) stepped up for the hosts with 21 points and 5 steals. Alicia Gladden (178-F-85, college: Florida St.) secured a great help scoring 16 points, while Natasa Ivancevic (188-PF-81) added two less. In the loosing squad, Biljana Stankovic (176-G-74) delivered 14 points. Sasa Cadjo (178-G-89) and Tijana Ajdukovic (197-C-91) (5 rebs) netted 11 and 10 points respectively. Partizan took control on Hemofarm from the beginning and never looked back. The hosts were 20-points up already at the halftime. Quarters: 19-12, 24-11, 20-13, 14-12. Playoff Finals format is best-of-five. Hemofarm will be the host in the second meeting, which is scheduled for Thursday. After that teams will play again on Sunday.

Slovakia looked better again in the start of the game and took 16-14 lead after the first 10 minutes of the game. The rest of the game belonged however to another team, Serbia. The latter posted a 27-17 surge in the second frame and took 8-point halftime advantage. Moreover they added 24-14 rally in the third quarter and increased to 18 points. Both teams posted the same number of points in the last stanza for the final result. Jovana Rad (187-PF-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) paced all the winners with 13 points and Jelena Milovanovic (190-PF-89) notched 12. Popovic delivered 10, whilst Bojana Vulic (191-F/C-84) scored 9. Lucia Kupcikova (184-F-84) answered with 15 points in the losing effort and Vinucalova posted 8. Gabriela Kubatova (171-G-84) followed them with 7 and Krcturbova scored 6.
