Aleksandar
Trifunovic
Aleksandar Trifunovic (agency: Alti Sport ) wins in Serbian coach battle in Lithuanian play off final serie. In final serie Trifunovic and his BC Zalgiris Kaunas beats Aleksandar Dzikic (agency: Beo Basket ) and his Lietuvos Rytas with score 3-0 in serie. After long season for both teams and coaches, Serbian coaches make great success with Lithuanian teams.

Aleksandar Trifunovic (agency: Alti Sport ) took the bench of BC Zalgiris Kaunas in November 2011 and with Lithuanian champion passed first round with scores 4 wins and 6 lost games and qualified in Euroleague Top 16, win Baltic league and win Lithuanian Championship. During the season coach Trifunovic had huge problems with injured players and one of the top players, Sonny Weems, leave the team before the end of the season. Aleksandar Trifunovic (agency: Alti Sport ) was head coach of Lietuvos Rytas two times, 2006-2008 and 2010-2011. Except coach Trifunovic in BC Zalgiris Kaunas play Serbian center Milovan Rakovic.

Aleksandar Dzikic (agency: Beo Basket ) took Lietuvos Rytas team in June 2011 and with Lithuanian team this season played Eurocup F4 and took 3rd place, played F4 of VTB league and also took 3rd place, 2nd place after lost final match against BC Zalgiris Kaunas and at the end 2nd place after lost final serie against BC Zalgiris Kaunas. In coach Dzikic team is Serbian guard Aleksandar Rasic.

Both Serbian coaches are from Belgrade, led Serbian basketball derby on the bench of Partizan and Crvena Zvezda, Aleksandar Trifunovic (agency: Alti Sport ) as a player, assistant coach and head coach in Crvena Zvezda and Aleksandar Dzikic (agency: Beo Basket ) as head coach of youth team and assistant coach of Partiazan. Also, very interesting information is that both coaches are from the same city, from the same neighborhood, from the same block in New Belgrade.

However, if we are look in the future, after basketball legends like Dusan Ikovic, Zeljko Obradovic and Svetislav Pesic, there is no doubt - this two coaches, with other young and prospect Serbian coaches, can continue their work and definitely are the future of Serbian basketball potential.
