Finals, Game 3: Partizan - Crvena Zvezda 78-72 (2-1)

Third game of the Serbian league Finals between Partizan and Crvena Zvezda just ended. The hosts celebrated 78-72 victory for 2-1 lead in the series. The format is best-of-five and Partizan is now one win away from the title. However, Crvena Zvezda will be the host of the next meeting. That game is scheduled for Friday.
Zvezda trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 24-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 72-78 at the end of the game. Partizan made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Zvezda helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for forward Vladimir Lucic (202-89, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. International center Milan Macvan (206-89, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Partizan players scored in double figures. Mile Ilic (215-84, agency: Interperformances) answered with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Bojan Popovic (191-83) added 14 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in the effort for Zvezda. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Partizan is the defending champion in Serbia. They also were the regular season champs with 12-2 record. If necessary, Partizan will host decisive Game Five. Fourth game will start on Friday at 20h. Crvena Zvezda will host that meeting in Zeleznik. That is the court where FMP played their games in the past.
