Eleventh-ranked Plana (2-5) made lots of trouble for leader Meridiana NS (7-0) in Velika Plana on Saturday. The visitors from Novi Sad managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 25-22 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Meridiana NS made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Guard Marko Savic (197-87) fired 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Milan Stanojevic (188-86, college: E.Washington) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Igor Kesar produced 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Undefeated Meridiana NS have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Meridiana NS maintains first place with 7-0 record. Plana at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. They share it with Partizan II. Meridiana NS are looking forward to face Partizan II (#12) in Beograd in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Plana will play on the road against Zeleznicar in Indjija and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Napredak Rubin (4-3) against ninth ranked Beovuk 72 (3-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Napredak Rubin was defeated by Beovuk 72 in a tough game in Beograd 70-75. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Marko Babic (196-93) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 rebounds. Milos Riboskic contributed with 14 points for the winners. Guard Luka Milojevic (193-91) answered with 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for Napredak Rubin. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Beovuk 72 moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Napredak Rubin at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Napredak A. and Mladost Zemun. Beovuk 72 will play against Crnokosa (#10) in Kosjeric in the next round. Napredak Rubin will play at home against Mladost Cacak (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

At the losing side Nenad Banjanin responded with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Mladost Zemun's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Radnicki OB moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Mladost Zemun keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Napredak A. and Napredak K.. Radnicki OB will meet Proleter Naftagas (#8) in the next round. Mladost Zemun will play against the league's second-placed Morava (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.

Partizan II will play on the road against the league's leader Meridiana NS (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.

Other games of round 7 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Proleter Naftagas was defeated by Mladost Cacak in a road game 67-62. Zeleznicar beat Spartak at home 82-65. Napredak A. lost to Morava on the opponent's court 69-73.


Partizan II - Crnokosa 76-94

The game with biggest result difference took place in Beograd. Local Partizan II (2-5) lost to eleventh ranked Crnokosa (3-4) 94-76. The game without a history. Crnokosa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 61.1 percent from the field. Crnokosa outrebounded Partizan II 32-19 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Crnokosa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. It was a quality performance for center Bojan Stanojevic (205-88) who led the winners and scored 32 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Marko Kandic (203-79) accounted for 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Crnokosa's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Mladen Djordjevic (187-94) came up with 22 points and 7 assists and Mihajlo Andric (200-94, agency: Beo Basket) added 21 points respectively for Partizan II in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Crnokosa moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Partizan II keeps the twelfth position with five games lost. Crnokosa's next round opponent will be Beovuk 72 (#7) in Beograd. Partizan II will play on the road against the league's leader Meridiana NS (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Proleter Naftagas (3-4) were defeated on the road by tenth ranked Mladost Cacak (3-4) 67-62. Proleter Naftagas were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Mladost Cacak made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Proleter Naftagas turnovers and had a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for center Milos Jankovic (203-94) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Swingman Goran Vucicevic (195-90) accounted for 13 points for the winning side. Center Zoran Majkic (207-78) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Luka Andjusic (194-94) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Proleter Naftagas in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Mladost Cacak moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Proleter Naftagas. Zeleznicar - Spartak 82-65

No shocking result in a game in Indjija where third ranked Zeleznicar (5-2) defeated bottom-ranked Spartak (1-6) 82-65. The game was mostly controlled by Zeleznicar. Spartak was better in third quarter 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zeleznicar shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for forward Slobodan Stanojevic (201-85) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Center Nikola Vujovic (207-93) accounted for 7 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Zeleznicar's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. This time Morava used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Aleksinac 73-69. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Napredak A. won fourth quarter 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for guard Perica Mitic (184-85) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists. Forward Nemanja Stankovic (195-89) accounted for 19 points for the winning side. Nikola Raicevic came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Aleksandar Miletic added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Napredak A. in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Morava. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Zeleznicar. Eleventh-ranked Plana (2-5) made lots of trouble for leader Meridiana NS (7-0) in Velika Plana on Saturday. The visitors from Novi Sad managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 25-22 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Meridiana NS made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Guard Marko Savic (197-87) fired 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Milan Stanojevic (188-86, college: E.Washington) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Igor Kesar produced 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and forward Ivan Milosevic (193-78) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Plana players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Meridiana NS have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Meridiana NS maintains first place with 7-0 record. Plana at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. They share it with Partizan II. Meridiana NS are looking forward to face Partizan II (#12) in Beograd in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Plana will play on the road against Zeleznicar in Indjija and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
