24-year old center Boban Marjanovic (222-C-88, agency: Beo Basket) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Mega Vizura and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11. He had a double-double of 25 points and 20 rebounds, while his team edged out Radnicki Basket (#10, 5-6) 86-83. It allowed Mega Vizura to consolidate first place in the Serbian league. Mega Vizura has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 10-1. Marjanovic turned to be Mega Vizura's top player in his first season with the team. Marjanovic has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 18.2ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.3rpg) and averages solid 1.5bpg and 78.0% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Aleksej Nesovic (189-PG-85, agency: Beo Basket) of OKK Beograd. He is naturalized Bosnia and Herzegovina guard in his first season at OKK Beograd. In the last game Nesovic recorded impressive 31 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course OKK Beograd cruised to a 122-113 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Vrsac (#6, 6-5). OKK Beograd's 11th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-6 record. Nesovic is a newcomer at OKK Beograd and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to center Stefan Djordjevic (206-C-89) of Smederevo (#13). Djordjevic scored 27 points. Despite Djordjevic's great performance Smederevo lost 80-84 to the higher-ranked Sloboda Uzice (#3, 7-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Smederevo can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Djordjevic he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Djordjevic has individually a great season in Serbia. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.4ppg (5th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Marko Boltic (193-G-87) of BKK Radnicki - 24 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists 5. Stanoje Knezevic (202-PF-89) of OKK Beograd - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists 6. Nemanja Prolovic (188-G-87) of Borac - 35 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists 7. Among other achievements Stimac received Eurobasket.com All-Latvian League Bosman Player of the Year award back in 2007 and 2008. He has been also a member of Serbian international program for some years. Stimac has regularly played for Serbian senior team since 2012 and previously for U20 National Team in 2007. He represented Serbia at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) this year. Stimac's team won Silver and his stats at that event were 5 games: 3.4ppg, 4.2rpg. Stimac is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Germany (Bayern Muenchen), Lithuania (Zalgiris and Zalgiris II Kaunas), Spain (Unicaja Malaga and Movil Estudiantes), Latvia (Valmiera and Ventspils), Serbia (KK Beovuk 72 Beograd), Czech Republic (CEZ Nymburk) and Turkey (Banvit and Eskisehir Basket). Stimac's game is described as:
Stimac is another very rich skilled Serbian center with many prospects in the European (and not only) courts. Vladimir is the total definition of a newly "born" center. Has very good skills in the paint, Can defense much taller opponents, can dash down any rebound in both edges and can do all the dirty job that a coach might ask him.
Has many weaknesses in the fouling as he can easily fouled out as his opponent can easily predict his passion and obsession in the game so they can simply take him out in no time. In the last European championship he only played for 18 minutes per game and had 6.5ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.1apg and 1.4bpg. He needs to work hard in order to add some fantasy in his game, plus a lot of workout in his shots from the charity line, as his percentages are really poor, around 40% !!.
