A League round 14 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Mega Vizura (11-3) against eighth ranked Borac (7-7) 89-84 was the most important game of the last round. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-19. But Mega Vizura won second period 15-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Borac won last quarter 30-26. They also forced 19 Mega Vizura turnovers. Center Mladen Pantic (209-82, agency: Alti Sport) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds. Swingman Mladen Sljivancanin (200-85, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 21 points and 6 assists for the winners. International center Boban Marjanovic (222-88, agency: Beo Basket) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 23 rebounds and 5 assists for Mega Vizura. Borac moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Konstantin. Mega Vizura at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Vojvodina who have the same record. Mega Vizura will play next round against Vrsac trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Borac will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Sloboda in Uzice.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Vojvodina as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Mega Vizura) loss. Vojvodina smashed 5th ranked Vrsac in Novi Sad 102-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vrsac. Forward Stefan Stojacic (194-89, agency: Interperformances) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Nikola Kalinic chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. point guard Jovan Novak (183-94) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Mega Vizura. Vrsac at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Vrsac will play next round against strong Mega Vizura trying to get back on the winning streak. Vojvodina will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Konstantin at Nis.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Radnicki Basket (6-8) and Smederevo Vizura (5-9), which took place in Beograd. Higher ranked Radnicki Basket lost at home to thirteenth ranked Smederevo Vizura 70-77 on Saturday. Marko Popadic notched 24 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by Nikola Rebic did not help to save the game for Radnicki Basket. Radnicki Basket's coach Milos Pejic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Smederevo Vizura moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Radnicki Basket dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Smederevo Vizura will meet at home higher ranked Tamis (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Radnicki Basket will play against KK Jagodina and hope to secure a win.
