Here is the weekly review of the top performing Serbian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former international forward Sonja Petrovic (189-89, currently plays in Russia). She contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Energy Ivanovo (2-8) crushing them 84-53 in the Russian PBL in Sunday night's game. Petrovic recorded 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 17 minutes on the court. Spartak Vidnoe Moscow Region (7-3) is placed fifth in the PBL. It's Petrovic's first season with the team. This year she averages: 7.0ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.4apg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 39.3%, 3FGP: 66.7% and FT: 75.0% in the seven games she played so far. Petrovic played for the Serbian senior national team two years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Tijana Ajdukovic (195-91, agency: Regeneracom Sports, currently plays in Italy). She was the major contributor in Parma's victory against the eighth-ranked Orvieto (3-7) 65-53 in the Italian A1 last Sunday. Ajdukovic scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Lavezzini Parma (8-2) is placed second in the A1. It was her team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Ajdukovic's overall stats this season are: 5.2ppg, 3.7rpg, 2FGP: 51.1% and FT: 69.2%. She is in the roster of the Serbian senior national team.

   #3. The Serbian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Maja Skoric (184-89, currently plays in Hungary). Skoric led DKSK to an easy victory against the league outsider MBK Eurl.Vasas (1-15) crushing them 100-44 in the Hungarian A Division on Saturday night. She recorded 17 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals in 25 minutes. DKSK Miskolc (9-7) is placed third in the A Division. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Skoric has relatively good stats this year: 11.8ppg, 5.6rpg, 2.6apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 49.1%, 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 94.7%(36-38) in the 14 games. She is also a member of the Serbian senior national team.

   #4. Forward Jovana Rad (187-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas, currently plays in France), who plays in the French LFB could not help Tarbes (7-8) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Rad's good performance Tarbes was defeated 71-65 on the road by the leading Lattes Montpellier. She scored 12 points. Rad belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #8. She has very reliable stats this season: 12.9ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.8spg. Rad used to play for the Serbian national team back in 2011.

   #5. Former international forward Adrijana Knezevic (185-87, currently plays in France), who plays in the French LFB was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Toulouse (7-8) in their last game. Despite her good performance Toulouse lost 59-72 on the opponent's court to the higher-ranked (#7) Mondeville. Knezevic was the second best scorer with 14 points. She also added 4 rebounds (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line) in 23 minutes. It was Toulouse's fifth consecutive loss in a row. This year Knezevic has relatively solid stats: 10.5ppg, 4.6rpg and 2.3apg in the 14 games. She used to play for the Serbian national team two years ago.

   #6. An experienced forward Monika Veselovski (183-77, currently plays in Italy) led Priolo to an easy victory against the closely-ranked C.U.S. Chieti (3-7) 82-67 in the Italian A1 in Sunday night's game. Veselovski scored 16 points in 35 minutes. Trogylos Priolo (3-7) is placed sixth in the A1. Veselovski belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #8 with 14.3ppg. She also averaged so far 4.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.9spg in the eight games. Veselovski is a former international player as she played for the Serbian senior team six years ago.

Former international guard Latinka Dusanic (178-90, currently plays in Hungary) was not able to secure a victory for PEAC-PECS (9-7) in their game against Cegledi EKK (4-12) in the Hungarian A Division. She recorded 6 points and added 3 passes. PEAC-PECS was defeated 81-77 at home by the lower-ranked Cegledi EKK (#8). There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Dusanic's overall stats this season are: 6.8ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.3apg. She used to play for the Serbian national team two years ago.

   #8. Guard Marija Eric (164-83, currently plays in Italy) is a teammate of previously mentioned Monika Veselovski and both played together in the last Italian A1 game. Eric led Priolo to an easy victory against the closely-ranked C.U.S. Chieti (3-7) 82-67. She scored 13 points and added 3 passes. Eric is currently fourth on the league's list of best passers and also on the list of most steals (third place). This season she has very good stats: 12.9ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.8apg and 2.7spg. Eric used to play for the Serbian national team back in 2010.

   #9. U20 international forward Maja Vucurovic (188-91, currently plays in Belgium) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Declercq Stortbeton (10-3) in their game against Belfius Namur (11-2) in the Belgian Division I. She recorded only 4 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 22 minutes. Declercq Stortbeton was crushed 77-54 in Namur by the second-ranked Belfius. They ended the series of five consecutive victories. Vucurovic is ranked seventh on the list of the best rebounders in the league with 7.3rpg. This year she also averages: 13.4ppg and 1.3apg in the 12 games. Vucurovic is also in the roster of the Serbian U20 national team.

   #10. Guard Maja Scekic (169-87, currently plays in Hungary) couldn't help Atomeromu (10-5) in their game against Bacsbasket (9-7) in the Hungarian A Division. Despite her good performance on Saturday night She recorded 12 points. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Scekic is ranked sixth on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best passers (sixth place). She has very solid stats this season: 14.5ppg, 3.1rpg, 3.1apg and 2.0spg. Scekic is a former university international player as four years ago she still played for the Serbian national team.

   #11. Former international center Jefimija Karakasevic (191-89, currently plays in Italy) faced previously mentioned Monika Veselovski in the Italian A1 last game. Karakasevic couldn't help one of league's weakest teams C.U.S. Chieti in their game against Priolo. She scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 17 minutes. Her team lost 67-82. Karakasevic is currently fourth on the list of best blockers with 1.2bpg. She also averaged so far 7.0ppg, 8.9rpg and 1.3spg in the 11 games. Karakasevic used to play for the Serbian national team three years ago.

   #12. Former U20 international center Ana Radovic (190-90, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Lithuania) couldn't help Utena in their game against Ruta Siauliai in the Lithuanian LMKL. She scored only 4 points. It was his first game for Utena this season. Her team was crushed by 22 points 83-61. Radovic used to play for the Serbian U20 national team back in 2010.


The list of other players, who all have Serbian passport but never been selected to any of Serbian national teams:

   #1. Milica Micovic (182-G-84, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Italy) was the major contributor in Ragusa's victory against the third-ranked Napoli S.Dike (9-4) crushing them 75-46 in the Italian A2 (12th division) on Sunday night. Micovic scored 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group South. Passalacqua Spedizioni Ragusa (13-0) is placed first. So far her team won all thirteen games in the Regular Season. Micovic has reliable stats this season: 10.2ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.2spg. She has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Italian.

   #2. Marija Micovic (187-F-82, also represented by Players Group, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian A2 (12th division) could not help Irpino (5-8) in their last game. Despite Micovic's good performance the tenth-placed Irpino lost 59-63 at home to the higher-ranked (#8) Salerno in the South group. She was the top scorer with 14 points. Micovic also added 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 32 minutes. Micovic has reliable stats this year: 14.9ppg, 8.5rpg and 1.2spg in the 13 games she played so far. She is another player who holds two passports: Serbian and Italian.

Power forward Bojana Stevanovic (180-F/C-96) put on an amazing game in the last round for Sabac, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 2. The 21-year old player was the main contributor (15 points, seven rebounds and seven assists) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Vrsac (#12, 0-2) with 55-point margin 99-44. There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in 1 ZLS. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Spartak (1-1) in Subotica on Monday night. Hosts were defeated by Vrbas Medela (1-1) 79-65. The game was mostly controlled by Vrbas Medela. Spartak managed to win fourth quarter 22-20. Here is the weekly review of the top performing Serbian players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is an international forward Danielle Page (188-86). She could not help Abdullah Gul (0-1) in their last game. Despite Page's very good performance the third-placed Abdullah Gul (0-1) was edged 76-74 on the road by the leading Istanbul Uni in the group E of Eurocup.    [read more]
