Ninth-ranked Proleter Naftagas (6-9) were very close to win a game against first ranked Meridiana NS (14-1) in Novi Sad on Saturday. Meridiana NS managed to secure only two-point victory 74-72. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Proleter Naftagas won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Meridiana NS made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Proleter Naftagas turnovers. It was a good game for guard Milan Stanojevic (188-86, college: E.Washington) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 9 steals. Guard Marko Savic (197-87) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Center Zoran Majkic (207-78) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks for Proleter Naftagas. Proleter Naftagas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Meridiana NS have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Meridiana NS maintains first place with 14-1 record. Proleter Naftagas lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with nine games lost. They share it with Beovuk 72. Meridiana NS are looking forward to face Napredak Rubin (#3) in Krusevac in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Proleter Naftagas will play at home against Zeleznicar (#5) in Indjija and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
Important game to mention about took place in Indjija. Seventh ranked Mladost Zemun (8-7) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Zeleznicar (8-6) 84-82 on Saturday evening. It was a great evening for forward Nenad Banjanin (201-85, college: E.Michigan) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds. Nikola Pavlovic helped adding 23 points. Mladost Zemun's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Bosnian guard Vladimir Jojic (185-75) with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Mladost Zemun moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Napredak A. Zeleznicar lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Mladost Zemun will play against Plana (#13) in Velika Plana in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zeleznicar will play on the road against Proleter Naftagas (#9) in Zrenjanin and hopes to get back on the winning track.
An interesting game for Crnokosa (10-5) which hosted in Kosjeric second-best Napredak Rubin (10-5). Third ranked Crnokosa had an easy win 82-59. It was an exceptional evening for Srdjan Stojanovic who led the winners and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Sasa Mihajlovic came up with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for Napredak Rubin in the defeat. Napredak Rubin's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Crnokosa moved-up to second place, which they share with Napredak K. Crnokosa will meet bottom-ranked Spartak (#14) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Napredak Rubin will play against the league's leader Meridiana NS (#1) in Novi Sad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Newly promoted Morava maintains fourth place with 9-6 record. Partizan II at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Morava's next round opponent will be Beovuk 72 (#10) in Beograd which should be theoretically an easy game. Partizan II will play on the road against Napredak A. in Aleksinac and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mladost Cacak moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Spartak stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Mladost Cacak will face Radnicki OB (#12) in Obrenovac in the next round. Spartak will play at home against the league's second-placed Crnokosa where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

In the last two games of round 15 Napredak A. beat Plana on the road 74-61. Beovuk 72 won against Radnicki OB on its own court 90-77.



Mladost Cacak - Spartak 84-60

The game between thirteenth ranked Mladost Cacak (5-9) and 14th ranked Spartak (3-12) in Cacak on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Mladost Cacak outscored guests from Subotica 84-60. The game was mostly controlled by Mladost Cacak. Spartak was better in fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mladost Cacak looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Spartak's players. It was a good game for center Milos Jankovic (203-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Forward Strahinja Petkovic (197-92) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Mladost Cacak players scored in double figures. Jovan Samardzija answered with 16 points and Milos Milisavljevic added 9 points in the effort for Spartak. Croatian Power forward Tomislav Gabric (204-PF-95) had an amazing evening in the last round for Metalac, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 6 (Second Stage). The Second Stage in KLS just ended. The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beograd: Crvena Zvezda (#1) and FMP (#2). Crvena Zvezda (6-0) won against visiting FMP (4-2) 72-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of FMP.
