The game between third ranked Napredak Rubin (11-6) and sixth ranked Zeleznicar (9-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Napredak Rubin was defeated by Zeleznicar in Indjija 81-70. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 43-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Zeleznicar made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Napredak Rubin helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was center Slobodan Gugleta (-83) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Slobodan Stanojevic (201-85) chipped in 23 points. Center Sasa Mihajlovic (203-75) produced 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Napredak Rubin's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zeleznicar moved-up to fifth place. Napredak Rubin at the other side dropped to the second position with six games lost. They share it with Morava and Crnokosa. Zeleznicar are looking forward to face league's second-placed Crnokosa in Kosjeric in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Napredak Rubin will play at home against Plana in Velika Plana and is hoping to win this game.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Novi Sad. First ranked Meridiana NS faced second-ranked Crnokosa. Host Meridiana NS (15-2) defeated guests from Kosjeric (11-6) 88-74. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Crnokosa. Guard Milan Stanojevic (188-86, college: E.Washington) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Nebojsa Jovsic contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian forward Nemanja Stanimirovic (203-85) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds for Crnokosa. Newly promoted Meridiana NS maintains first place with 15-2 record. Crnokosa at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. They share it with Napredak K. and Morava. Meridiana NS will play against bottom-ranked Spartak (#14) in Subotica in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Crnokosa will play at home against Zeleznicar (#5) in Indjija and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Beograd between Beovuk 72 and Napredak A.. Tenth ranked Beovuk 72 (7-10) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Napredak A. (9-8). Beovuk 72 managed to escape with a 2-point win 88-86 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Napredak A.. Dejan Pejic stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Milan Vulic responded with 21 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Beovuk 72 maintains tenth place with 7-10 record, which they share with Radnicki OB. Loser Napredak A. dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Beovuk 72 will meet higher ranked Mladost Zemun (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Napredak A. will play against Mladost Cacak and hope to secure a win.

Other games of round 17 were very predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Mladost Zemun was defeated by Partizan II in Beograd 90-85. Radnicki OB beat Spartak at home 84-74. Morava won against Mladost Cacak on the opponent's court 91-85. Plana unfortunately lost to Proleter Naftagas in a home game 78-90.
The best stats of 17th round was 29 points, 6 assists and 4 steals by Vladimir Radojcic of Radnicki OB.



Partizan II - Mladost Zemun 90-85

There was a minor upset in Beograd where 7th ranked Mladost Zemun (8-9) was defeated by ninth ranked Partizan II (8-9) 90-85 on Monday. Partizan II moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Mladost Zemun and Proleter Naftagas. Partizan II will meet Proleter Naftagas (#9) in the next round. Mladost Zemun will play against Beovuk 72 in Beograd and hope to secure a win.

Radnicki OB - Spartak 84-74

No shocking result in a game in Obrenovac where eleventh ranked Radnicki OB (7-10) defeated bottom-ranked Spartak (3-14) 84-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Radnicki OB. Spartak managed to win second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Radnicki OB forced 19 Spartak turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Radnicki OB especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Vladimir Radojcic stepped up and scored 29 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners and Vlatko Ilic chipped in 23 points and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Power forward Aleksandar Drakulic (198-85) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Predrag Prlja scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Radnicki OB moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Beovuk 72. Spartak lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Radnicki OB will meet higher ranked Morava (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spartak will play against the league's leader Meridiana NS (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.

Very expected game when 13th ranked Mladost Cacak (5-11) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Morava (11-6) 91-85 on Sunday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Morava made 8 blocks. Forward Nenad Stojanovic (200-88) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and guard Milan Milenkovic (191-86) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Center Milos Jankovic (203-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds and guard Lazar Spasic (184-93) scored 22 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Four Morava and five Mladost Cacak players scored in double figures. Morava have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Napredak K. and Crnokosa. Loser Mladost Cacak keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Morava will meet at home Radnicki OB (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mladost Cacak will play against Napredak A. in Aleksinac and hope to secure a win.
