Hemofarm managed to secure important away victory after beating Spartak Noginsk 76-78 in a matchup of Group J. This is the first appearance for both teams in Qualifying Round. EuroCup: Spartak Noginsk - Hemofarm 76-78
Hemofarm managed to secure important away victory after beating Spartak Noginsk 76-78 in a matchup of Group J. This is the first appearance for both teams in Qualifying Round. It did not start well for visiting team, who trailed for most of the game. Spatak players came out stronger from the start and after first quarter they were already up 23-16. In the second quarter, Hemofarm consolidates somewhat and started playing better. Still they could not cut the deficit, as Spartak was able to fend off any run attempt. After exchanging baskets in the 2nd quarter, Spartak still held the lead at halftime. The score showed 44-36 for Spartak as teams went for halftime break. More of the same continued in the third quarter, as Spartak players continued to build their lead. With 2 minutes left in the third quarter, Spartak had its biggest lead of the game as the scoreboard showed 60-49 score. By the end of the period, Spartak held 13-point lead and were looking comfortable as the score was 68-55. In the opening minute of the fourth frame Victoria Shagan (178-G-79) hit a three pointer for Spartak to increase the lead to 71-55. From that point on only one team played and that was Hemofarm. Visitors started playing better defense and started to dominate the offense. This resulted in 3-16 run which cut the deficit to 74-71 with little under 2 minutes to play. With 29 seconds left in the game, Danijela Rizvic (177-G-87) hit the basket to tie the game at 75. In the next possession, Spartak players committed offensive foul and than Tamara Radocaj hit a triple to complete the comeback and give Hemofarm 75-78 lead. All Spartak could do was hit one more free throw to set the final score of 76-78. Danijela Rizvic led Hemofarm and all scorers with 20 points on the night. She received help from Maja Milutinovic (177-G-87) who added 14 and Dara Kovacevic (197-C-83) who chipped in 12 points along with 10 rebounds. Nelli Nevzorova (190-F-70) led the way for Spartak with 17 points. Viktoriya Victoria Shagan added 16, while Yulia Khodzayan (173-G-84) finished the game with 15.

Round 6 was marked by hosts winning almost every matchup in Serbian top division. Vojvodina displayed dominance for three quarters, as they hosted Vozdovac. With 10 minutes to play, the hosts were already up 69-44 and from there they closed out the game for the final score of 79-66. Partizan remained undefeated after 6 rounds by routing Spartak 93-63. Mirjana Velisavljevic (187-C-78) poured in 20 points, and Dajana Butulija (175-G-86) added 15 for hosts who had this game wrapped by half time. On the other side, Sanja Orozovic (184-G-90) and Marija Kovacic (197-C-78, agency: Global Sports Plaza) had 15 points apiece, but they had little support. Thanks to the great second half, which they won by 23 point margin, Radnicki managed to turn the game against Kovin and celebrate 89-81 victory in the end. Duo of Stojijkovic Verica and Aleksandra Katic led the comeback for Radnicki, and have finished the game with 25 and 21 points respectively. Stosic also had a good outing for Radnicki with 17 points. Hemofarm was better than Crven Zvezda 75-65 thanks to Danijela Rizvic (177-G-87) and Milutinovic who scored 13 point each. Two more players reached double digits for Hemofarm, Tamara Radocaj (168-G-87) with 11 and Dara Kovacevic (197-C-83) with 10. Crvena Zvezda had only 2 players in double digits, as Velinovic scored 13 while Ristic added 10 points. In the final game of the round, Celarevo was the only team to record away win in this round. After a hard fight, they managed to over come its host Radivoj Korac 74-75. Game Proleter - Loznica is postponed.

Partizan Belgrade is unstoppable at the beginning of the domestic championship in Serbia. After great victory against Hemofarm in Round 3, this time Partizan managed to beat Crvena Zvezda 81-73. Dajana Butulija (175-G-86) stepped up for the hosts with 22 points. Dunja Prcic (180-G-87) also was good scoring 15. On the other side, Crvena Zvezda (2-2) got 18 from Ivanka Matic (195-F/C-79).

Proleter blasted Celarevo also in this round 60-37 moving up to 2-2. Radivoj Korac was too much for Spartak joining Hemofarm with 3-1 score. At the same time, Spartak fell to 1-2. Vojvodina celebrated second win (2-2) and it was against Kovin 75-55. The loosing side stays on just one win so far. Round 5 is schedule for the next week-end.
