The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Dynamic BG (13-4) in Beograd on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Dunav SB (10-7) 78-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dynamic BG. Point guard Vuk Malidzan (193-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Center Lazar Zorcic (205-88) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Jamaican center Kimani Ffriend (211-77, college: Nebraska) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for Dynamic BG. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Dunav SB maintains fifth place with 10-7 record, which they share with Mladost ZE and Tamis. Dynamic BG at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Vrsac. Dunav SB is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Konstantin (#14) in Nis in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dynamic BG will play on the road against Mladost ZE (#6) in Zemun and is hoping to win this game.
An interesting game for Borac (12-5) which hosted in Cacak leader Vrsac (13-4). Third ranked Borac managed to get a 10-point victory 78-68. Point guard Marko Radonjic (191-93) stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Aleksandar Todorovic chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Nikola Jeftic (205-87) responded with 21 points. Borac have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-5 record behind leader Vrsac. Vrsac at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Dynamic BG. Borac will play against Tamis (#7) in Pancevo in the next round. Vrsac will play at home against Spartak (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between 14th ranked Konstantin (1-16) and seventh ranked Tamis (10-7) in Nis on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Pancevo outscored Konstantin 79-54. Igor Kesar nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Slavisa Bogavac came up with 11 points and 8 rebounds for Konstantin in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tamis moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Mladost ZE and Dunav SB. Konstantin lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Tamis will meet at home higher ranked Borac (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Konstantin will play against Dunav SB (#5) in Stari Banovci and hope to win that game.

OKK Beograd moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Metalac. Beovuk 72 at the other side keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. OKK Beograd's next round opponent will be Metalac (#11) in Valjevo.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 17: Smederevo was beaten by Napredak K. on the road 90-77. Sloga lost to Mladost ZE on its own court 69-75. Metalac unfortunately lost to Spartak in Subotica 68-74.

OKK Beograd - Beovuk 72 93-84

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Beograd: OKK Beograd (#11) and Beovuk 72 (#9). OKK Beograd (7-10) won against visiting Beovuk 72 (8-9) 93-84. OKK Beograd made 36-of-42 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Beovuk 72 turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 33 personal fouls committed by Beovuk 72 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was swingman Nemanja Manojlovic (193-93) who scored 24 points and 5 assists. Naturalized Bosnian point guard Aleksej Nesovic (189-85, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 19 points and 8 assists. Forward Stefan Fundic (199-94) produced 23 points and 6 rebounds and center Filip Zekavicic (210-92) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five OKK Beograd and four Beovuk 72 players scored in double figures. Beovuk 72's coach Rajko Mirkovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked KK Napredak Rubin Krusevac (9-8) beat at home 13th ranked Smederevo (2-15) 90-77. KK Napredak Rubin Krusevac shot 64.2 percent from the field. The best player for the winners was swingman Jovan Djordjevic (198-93) who scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Milan Markovic (208-90) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Four KK Napredak Rubin Krusevac players scored in double figures. Nikola Pavlovic (204-96, agency: BeoBasket) produced 12 points and 7 rebounds and Georgian power forward Goga Bitadze (210-99) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KK Napredak Rubin Krusevac maintains eighth place with 9-8 record. Very expected game when 12th ranked Sloga (6-11) lost to sixth ranked Mladost ZE (10-7) in Kraljevo 69-75. Mladost ZE dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Sloga's 24. They outrebounded Sloga 37-21 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Milenko Veljkovic (216-95) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds. Guard Ognjen Kuzeta (193-87) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Mladost ZE's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Petar Vorkapic (194-95) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Nemanja Simovic (192-95) added 18 points respectively for the hosts. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mladost ZE. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tamis and Dunav SB. Very predictable result when fourth ranked Spartak (11-6) won against 10th ranked Metalac (7-10) in Subotica 74-68. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory.
