Here is the weekly review of the top performing Serbian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Milos Teodosic (195-87, currently plays in VTB United League). He was the major contributor in CSKA's victory against the fifth-ranked Unics Kazan (11-7) 92-88 in the VTB United League in Sunday night's game. Teodosic had a double-double by scoring 19 points and making 10 passes in 28 minutes on the court. CSKA Moscow (16-2) is placed first in the VTB United League. It's Teodosic's sixth season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 10.8ppg, 2.9rpg, 6.6apg, 2FGP: 59.1%(26-44), 3FGP: 27.4% and FT: 86.7% in 12 games he played so far. Teodosic is currently a member of the Serbian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Vladimir Stimac (210-87, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). He could not help Besiktas (12-2) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Stimac's very good performance the first-placed Besiktas (12-2) was defeated 75-70 on the road by the second-ranked Pinar Karsiyaka in the group E of Basketball Champions League. He recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 13 rebounds. This season Stimac has relatively solid stats: 13.1ppg, 9.3rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 67.6%(75-111) and FT: 63.5%. He is in the roster of the Serbian senior national team.

   #3. The Serbian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international swingman Bogdan Bogdanovic (198-92, currently plays in Euroleague). Bogdanovic led his Turkish team Fenerbahce to a victory against the tenth-ranked Zalgiris (10-14) 76-67 in the Euroleague on Thursday night. He scored 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. Fenerbahce Istanbul (16-8) is placed fifth in group A. Bogdanovic has reliable stats this year: 13.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 4.1apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 55.2%(32-58), 3FGP: 38.0% and FT: 88.6% in 12 games. He is also a member of the Serbian senior national team.

   #4. Forward Nikola Kalinic (202-91, currently plays in Turkey) is a teammate of previously mentioned Bogdan Bogdanovic. But that was another game of his team in Turkish BSL which we would like to mention. Kalinic contributed to Fenerbahce's victory against the seventh-ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (10-9) 85-73. He recorded 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Fenerbahce Istanbul (15-4) is placed first in the BSL. Kalinic's overall stats this season are: 8.1ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.6apg. He is also Serbian national team player.

   #5. International guard Stefan Markovic (196-88, currently plays in EuroCup) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Zenit (3-3) in their last game on Friday. Despite Markovic's very good performance Zenit was defeated 88-77 at home by the leading Lokomotiv. He recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and making 12 passes. It's Markovic's first season with the team. Markovic's stats this year are: 11.9ppg, 3.3rpg, 9.1apg and 1.4spg. He plays currently for the Serbian national team.

   #6. Power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86, currently plays in Greece) contributed to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked Koroivos (7-13) crushing them 100-79 in the Greek A1 last Saturday. Dragicevic recorded 16 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Aris Thessaloniki (11-8) is placed fourth in the A1. Dragicevic averaged so far 10.9ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.7apg. He is a former university international player as he played for the Serbian team eight years ago.

   #7. International center Nikola Jokic (209-95, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Chicago Bulls (31-30) 125-107 in the NBA on Tuesday night. Jokic had a triple-double by scoring 19 points, grabbing 16 rebounds and passing 10 assists in 33 minutes. The Denver Nuggets have 28-33 record this season. Jokic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.6ppg, 9.1rpg and 4.6apg in 54 games. Jokic is also Serbian national team player.

Center Dejan Musli (213-91, also represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in EuroCup) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams one of league's weakest teams Unicaja Malaga (3-3) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his very good performance Unicaja Malaga was defeated 91-82 in Muenchen by the leading Bayern. Musli was the top scorer with 15 points. He also added 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. Musli averaged so far 11.8ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.7apg. He used to play for the Serbian national team back in 2013.

International center Nikola Milutinov (212-94, currently plays in Greece) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Apollon Patras (5-15) 87-70 in the Greek A1 last Monday. Milutinov recorded 11 points in a mere 18 minutes. Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus (16-0) is placed first in the A1. So far his team won all sixteen games in the Regular Season. This year Milutinov's overall stats are: 5.1ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.1bpg in 16 games. He is also in the roster of the Serbian national team.

An experienced swingman Branko Cvetkovic (200-84, agency: AproK Sports Group, currently plays in Lebanon) contributed to a Al Riyadi's victory against the closely-ranked Byblos (11-3) 75-64 in the Lebanese Pepsi LBL in Friday night's game. He recorded 17 points in 36 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut (6-0) is placed first in the Pepsi LBL. So far his team won all six games in the Regular Season. Cvetkovic has very impressive stats this year: 16.7ppg, 4.1rpg, 2.5apg and 1.2spg in 13 games. He is a former international player as nine years ago he still played for the Serbian senior national team.

   #11. Former international center Rasko Katic (208-80, another player represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Belgium) led Oostende to a victory over the seventh-ranked Limburg United crushing them 78-57 in the Belgian Euromillions League last Friday. Katic was MVP of the game. He recorded 19 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Katic averaged so far 13.5ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.3apg. He used to play for the Serbian national team three years ago.

   #12. Former international power forward Dusko Savanovic (204-83, another player represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Banco di Srd (11-9) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Savanovic's good performance Banco di Srd was defeated 76-71 in Pesaro by the much lower-ranked VL Pesaro (#14). He was the top scorer with 13 points. Savanovic also added 9 rebounds. Savanovic averaged so far 11.3ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.6apg. He used to play for the Serbian national team back in 2014.

   #13. International power forward Milan Macvan (206-89, currently plays in Euroleague) couldn't help Armani Milano (7-17) in their last game. Despite Macvan's good performance Armani Milano (#15) lost 74-87 in Vitoria to the much higher-ranked (#8) Baskonia in the group A of Euroleague. He scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 30 minutes. This year Macvan's total stats are: 8.7ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.2apg in 22 games. He is also Serbian national team player.

   #14. Former U20 international power forward Ivan Marinkovic (209-93, currently plays in ABA League) helped his Croatian team KK Zadar edge the sixth-ranked Cibona 85-84 in the ABA League on Wednesday night. Marinkovic scored 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This season Marinkovic has very high stats. He averages: 18.2ppg and 6.1rpg. Marinkovic used to play for the Serbian U20 national team back in 2013.

   #15. International small forward Vladimir Lucic (201-89, currently plays in EuroCup) faced previously mentioned Dejan Musli in the Eurocup last game. Lucic helped his German team Bayern Muenchen win their game against the closely-ranked Unicaja Malaga 91-82. He recorded 11 points in 23 minutes. Lucic has averaged so far 8.2ppg and 2.6rpg in 16 games. He is also in the roster of the Serbian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Serbian passport but never been selected to any of Serbian national teams:

   #1. Dusan Sakota (210-SF-86, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Basketball Champions League) led his Greek team AEK Athens to a 1-point victory over the leader Monaco (12-2) 69-68 in the Basketball Champions League last Tuesday. Sakota was MVP of the game. He recorded 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds (made all of his six free throws) in 25 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group E. AEK Athens (9-5) is placed second. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Sakota's stats this year are: 13.8ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.9apg in 15 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Greek. Despite Sakota's Serbian passport, he previously played for the Greek U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Serbian team.

   #2. Vladimir Jankovic (202-F-90, currently plays in Greece) led Aris to a victory over the 11th-ranked Koroivos (7-13) crushing them 100-79 in the Greek A1 in Saturday night's game. Jankovic was MVP of the game. He recorded 21 points and added 4 assists in 28 minutes. Aris Thessaloniki (11-8) is placed fourth in the A1. This year Jankovic averages: 8.3ppg, 3.5rpg and 2.6apg in 14 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Serbian and Greek.

   #3. DeMarcus Nelson (193-G-85, college: Duke, currently plays in France) could not help ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (11-10) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Nelson's very good performance ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket was defeated 72-63 on the road by the second-ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez. He was the second best scorer with 18 points. Nelson also added 4 passes. Nelson's total stats this season are: 9.1ppg, 4.6rpg, 4.4apg and 1.3spg. He is a naturalized American. Nelson used to play for Crvena Zvezda Telekom Beograd in Serbian league.

   #4. Experienced Danilo Mijatovic (206-F/C-83, currently plays in FYR Macedonia) was the main contributor in Kumanovo's victory against the eighth-ranked Vardar (0-14) 86-69 in the FYR Macedonian Prva Liga on Saturday night. Mijatovic was the best player in that game. He recorded 28 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in 32 minutes. KK Kumanovo 2009 (10-3) is placed third in the Prva Liga. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Mijatovic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 18.9ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.2spg in 13 games.

   #5. Oliver Stevic (204-F/C-84, also represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Andorra (10-10) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Stevic's very good performance Andorra was edged in an overtime 86-84 in Santoago de Comp by the much lower-ranked Blusens Monbus (#15). He was the second best scorer with 16 points. Stevic also added 4 rebounds. Stevic has averaged so far 9.1ppg and 4.0rpg.

   #6. Bojan Radulovic (211-C-92, currently plays in Slovenia) was not able to secure a victory for KK Primorska (11-9) in their last game. Despite his very good performance KK Primorska lost 64-78 at home to the leading Zlatorog. Radulovic was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added 7 rebounds in 27 minutes. Radulovic has averaged so far 8.7ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.1bpg in 20 games. He has both Serbian and Slovenian nationalities. Despite Radulovic's Serbian passport, he previously played for the Slovenian U20 national team and probably cannot be called to the Serbian team.

   #7. Boris Savovic (208-F-87, another player represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in ABA League) contributed to Buducnost's victory against the closely-ranked FMP 93-84 in the ABA League in Saturday night's game. Savovic was the best player in that game. He scored 19 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Savovic averaged so far 10.5ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.4apg. He also holds two passports: Serbian and Montenegrin. Despite Savovic's Serbian nationality, he previously played for the Montenegrin U20 national team.

   #8. Aleksandar Capin (186-PG-82, currently plays in Slovenia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Bojan Radulovic. But that was another game of his team in Slovenian Liga Nova KBM which we would like to mention. Capin was the major contributor in a KK Primorska's victory against the closely-ranked Sencur Gorenjska gradbena druzba Kranj 85-76. He scored 15 points and added 5 passes in 26 minutes. Capin has averaged so far 7.5ppg, 1.7rpg and 3.0apg in six games. He has Serbian and Slovenian nationalities.

   #9. Uros Mirkovic (205-F/C-82, agency: BeoExcell, currently plays in Poland) couldn't help Polpharma (11-11) in their last game. Despite Mirkovic's very good performance Polpharma lost 60-67 in Radom to the higher-ranked (#7) Rosa. He was the top scorer with 15 points. Mirkovic also added 4 rebounds and made 3 blocks in 28 minutes. Mirkovic averaged so far 10.7ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1bpg in 21 games.

   #10. Marko Djerasimovic (198-F/G-84, another player represented by BeoExcell, currently plays in Hungary) couldn't help KTE-Duna (8-12) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance KTE-Duna was defeated 85-80 in Zalaegerszeg by the higher-ranked ZTE KK (#6). Djerasimovic recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and getting 10 rebounds. This season Djerasimovic has very high stats. He averages: 17.2ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.5apg and 1.5spg.

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Second Stage in KLS. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Borac (1-1) in Cacak on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by Mega Leks (1-1) 77-75. 26 personal fouls committed by Borac helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
