Here is the weekly review of the top performing Serbian players, who play currently abroad.


Milos Teodosic

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Milos Teodosic (195-87, currently plays in Euroleague). He could not help CSKA (19-7) in their last game. Despite Teodosic's very good performance CSKA was edged 79-78 on the road by the lower-ranked (#7) Baskonia. He was the second best scorer with 19 points. Teodosic also added 6 passes in 30 minutes on the court. It was CSKA's first loss after four consecutive victories. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Teodosic's sixth season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Teodosic averages: 15.8ppg, 2.4rpg, 7.2apg, 2FGP: 54.8%, 3FGP: 36.1% and FT: 90.3%(65-72) in 20 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Serbian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international swingman Bogdan Bogdanovic (198-92, currently plays in Turkey). Bogdanovic led Fenerbahce to a victory over the closely-ranked Galatasaray (15-6) 79-75 in a derby game in the Turkish BSL last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Bogdanovic scored 16 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 4 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Fenerbahce Istanbul (19-2) is placed first in the BSL. It was his team's 12th consecutive victory in a row. Bogdanovic has relatively good stats this season: 13.7ppg, 3.4rpg, 2.6apg, 2FGP: 56.4%(31-55), 3FGP: 29.4% and FT: 88.9%. He is in the roster of the Serbian senior national team.

   #3. The Serbian player who performed third best last week abroad was former University international power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86, currently plays in Greece). Dragicevic was not able to help Aris (12-10) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Aris was edged 85-84 in Rodou by the lower-ranked (#6) Kolossos HH. Dragicevic was the second best scorer with 22 points. He also added 4 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Dragicevic's first season with the team. This year Dragicevic has relatively solid stats: 11.5ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.7apg, 2FGP: 63.6%(49-77), 3FGP: 32.5% and FT: 75.0% in 19 games. He played for the Serbian university national team eight years ago.

Point guard Nemanja Nedovic (191-91, currently plays in EuroCup) was the main contributor in an Unicaja Malaga's victory against the league leader Lokomotiv (5-1) 74-63 in the Eurocup in Friday night's game. Nedovic was the best player in that game. He scored 21 points and added 4 passes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Unicaja Malaga (3-3) is placed second in the Eurocup. Nedovic has reliable stats this season: 10.2ppg, 1.9rpg and 3.5apg. He is also Serbian national team player.

Former international forward Vladimir Micov (201-85, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Euroleague) contributed to Galatasaray's surprising victory against the third-ranked Olympiacos (18-8) 80-71 in the Euroleague on Friday night. Micov was the top player that evening. He scored 18 points, grabbed 5 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 4 balls. Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul (9-17) is placed 13th in the Euroleague. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Micov's stats this season are: 11.4ppg, 3.7rpg and 2.6apg. He used to play for the Serbian national team three years ago.

Center Nikola Jokic (209-95, also represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in NBA) was the major contributor in a Denver Nuggets' victory against the Boston Celtics (44-25) crushing them 119-99 in the NBA in Friday night's game. Jokic had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 7 assists and 4 steals in 27 minutes. The Denver Nuggets have 33-35 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Jokic has very impressive stats this year: 16.1ppg, 9.4rpg and 4.7apg in 59 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Serbian National Team roster.

International small forward Vladimir Lucic (201-89, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the 13th-ranked Walter Tigers (9-18) crushing them 85-63 in the German BBL on Sunday night. He recorded 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 22 minutes. FC Bayern Muenchen (20-3) is placed third in the BBL. It was his team's tenth consecutive victory in a row. This year Lucic's overall stats are: 9.0ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.6apg in 23 games. He is also Serbian national team player.

Markovic scored 12 points, had 7 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 3 balls. Zenit Saint Petersburg (16-3) is placed second in the VTB United League. It was his team's tenth consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. Markovic's total stats this season are: 9.5ppg, 4.1rpg, 7.9apg and 1.7spg. He plays currently for the Serbian national team.

They ended the series of five consecutive loses. The Regular Season already ended in the ABA League. This season Lukovic has very high stats. He averages: 16.8ppg, 7.4rpg and 2.0apg. Power forward Nikola Jankovic (207-94, another player represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Slovenia) contributed to Un.Olimpija's victory against the sixth-ranked Rogaska (12-10) 83-72 in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM in Wednesday night's game. He recorded 22 points in 31 minutes. Union Olimpija Ljubljana (18-4) is placed first in the Liga Nova KBM. It was his team's tenth consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Jankovic's stats this year are: 13.3ppg, 4.1rpg, 1.2apg and 1.5spg in 17 games. He is a former U20 international player as three years ago he still played for the Serbian national team.

   #11. International center Vladimir Stimac (210-87, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Turkey) was not able to secure a victory for Besiktas in their game against Darussafaka in the Turkish BSL. Stimac scored 8 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. His team was edged 71-68. This season Stimac has very high stats. He averages: 15.1ppg and 9.9rpg. Stimac plays currently for the Serbian national team.

   #12. International center Nikola Milutinov (212-94, currently plays in Euroleague) faced previously mentioned Vladimir Micov in the Euroleague last game. Milutinov couldn't help Olympiacos in their game against Galatasaray. He scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in only 14 minutes. His team lost 71-80. This year Milutinov's total stats are: 4.1ppg and 3.4rpg in 25 games. He is also in the roster of the Serbian national team.

   #13. Former U16 international center Bogdan Radosavljevic (213-93, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked s Oliver Baskets crushing them 99-75 in the German BBL in Saturday night's game. Radosavljevic was the top player that evening. He recorded 17 points. Radosavljevic has averaged so far 5.8ppg and 2.0rpg. He used to play for the Serbian U16 national team eight years ago.

   #14. Former international guard Nemanja Jaramaz (200-91, another player represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Poland) contributed to an easy victory against the 14th-ranked AZS Koszalin 78-62 in the Polish PLK last Monday. Jaramaz was the top player that evening. He recorded 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 26 minutes. Jaramaz averaged so far 11.7ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1spg in 20 games. He used to play for the Serbian national team back in 2012.

   #15. International forward Nikola Kalinic (202-91, currently plays in Euroleague) is a teammate of previously mentioned Bogdan Bogdanovic. But that was another game of his team in Euroleague which we would like to mention. Kalinic contributed to Fenerbahce's victory against the 12th-ranked Brose Baskets 83-78. He scored 7 points in 20 minutes. Kalinic has averaged so far 6.3ppg, 3.1rpg and 1.5apg in 24 games. He is also in the roster of the Serbian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Serbian passport but never been selected to any of Serbian national teams:

   #1. Dusan Sakota (210-SF-86, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Greece) led AEK Athens to a victory over the 11th-ranked Koroivos (7-15) crushing them 89-63 in the Greek A1 last Saturday. Sakota was the top player that evening. He recorded 18 points in 21 minutes. AEK Athens (17-5) is placed third in the A1. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Sakota's stats this year are: 12.1ppg and 3.8rpg in 20 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Greek. Despite Sakota's Serbian passport, he previously played for the Greek U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Serbian team.

   #2. Experienced Branko Mirkovic (190-G-82, agency: 011 Sports, currently plays in VTB United League) could not help Kalev/Cramo (4-15) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Mirkovic's very good performance Kalev/Cramo was defeated 94-86 at home by the higher-ranked Avtodor (#9). He recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and making 11 passes. Mirkovic has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 19.0ppg, 2.0rpg and 10.0apg. Mirkovic is another player who holds two passports: Serbian and Bulgarian.

   #3. Dusan Djordjevic (193-G-83, also represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Belgium) was the main contributor in Oostende's victory against the fifth-ranked Okapi Aalstar (13-13) 80-79 in the Belgian Euromillions League last Friday. Djordjevic was the top player that evening. He recorded 18 points and added 9 assists in 26 minutes. Telenet BC Oostende (20-4) is placed first in the Euromillions League. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. Djordjevic is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his sixth year in Oostende's roster. This season Djordjevic's total stats are: 7.4ppg, 2.6rpg, 5.8apg and 1.3spg in 24 games.

   #4. Vladimir Jankovic (202-F-90, currently plays in Greece) contributed to Aris' victory against the league outsider Doxa Lefkadas (4-18) 78-70 in the Greek A1 on Saturday night. Jankovic scored 10 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Aris Thessaloniki (12-10) is placed fourth in the A1. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. Jankovic has averaged so far 8.8ppg, 3.8rpg and 2.6apg. He has both Serbian and Greek nationalities.

   #5. Milan Stanojevic (183-G-86, agency: Mansfield and Associates, college: E.Washington, currently plays in Balkan League) contributed to a Teodo Tivat's victory against the closely-ranked Feni Industries (2-4) 81-68 in the Balkan League on Tuesday night. Stanojevic was the top player that evening. He scored 19 points, grabbed 4 boards, dished 7 assists and stole 4 balls. KK Teodo Tivat (3-3) is placed tenth in the Balkan League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Stanojevic averaged so far 14.1ppg, 2.3rpg, 6.1apg and 1.7spg.

   #6. Nikola Gacesa (206-F-87, college: TCU, currently plays in Iran) helped Tabriz win their game against the fourth-ranked Army 74-57 in the Iranian Superleague last Monday. He was the top player that evening. Gacesa scored 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. This season Gacesa has very high stats. He averages: 17.9ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.3apg.

   #7. Andrija Ciric (198-G-80, currently plays in Hungary) helped Szedeak win their game against the closely-ranked Atomeromu 84-70 in the Hungarian A Division last Saturday. Ciric was the top player that evening. He recorded 29 points (!!!) in 30 minutes. Ciric averaged so far 14.9ppg, 5.2rpg, 2.1apg and 1.3spg in 23 games.

   #8. Marko Djerasimovic (198-F/G-84, agency: BeoExcell, currently plays in Hungary) helped KTE-Duna win their game against the closely-ranked MAFC 92-81 in the Hungarian A Division in Saturday night's game. He was the top player that evening. Djerasimovic had a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 13 rebounds. He also added 8 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) in 40 minutes. Djerasimovic has very impressive stats this year: 17.6ppg, 4.9rpg, 2.7apg and 1.4spg in 22 games.

   #9. Dragan Zekovic (209-C/F-87, another player represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in FYR Macedonia) was the major contributor in a Karpos Sokoli's victory against the fourth-ranked Rabotnicki 94-90 in a derby game in the FYR Macedonian Prva Liga last Wednesday. He recorded 19 points. It was his first game for Karpos Sokoli this season.

   #10. Tomislav Ivosev (204-F-90, another player represented by 011 Sports, currently plays in Hungary) is a teammate of previously mentioned Marko Djerasimovic. But that was another game of his team in Hungarian A Division which we would like to mention. Ivosev helped KTE-Duna win their game against the closely-ranked Sopron KC 90-84. He was the top player that evening. Ivosev recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added and 3 steals. This season Ivosev has very high stats. He averages: 15.5ppg, 7.4rpg, 1.6apg and 1.3spg. Ivosev also holds two passports: Serbian and Hungarian.

Serbian coach Dragan Nikolic left Karpos Sokoli 2000 Skopje (Prva Liga). Nikolic's team won the Macedonian Cup. Among other achievements he received Eurobasket.com All-Serbian 2MLS Coach of the Year award in 2015. Nikolic was coaching Serbian Senior National Team back in 2012. He has coached also professionally for other Serbian teams like Metalac, KK Mladost Z Admiral Zemun and Tamis. In 14 Eurocup games he averaged 11.9ppg, 3.3rpg, 9.1apg and 1.4spg last season. Markovic helped them to make it to the quarterfinals. He also played 30 games in VTB United League where he had 10.3ppg, 4.5rpg, 7.6apg (top 2) and 1.4spg.
