KLS Round 24: Sloga defeats Dynamic BG in the closest game of the week - Apr 4, 2017

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in KLS.

The most exciting game of round 24 in the KLS took place in Beograd. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-best Dynamic BG (18-6) to twelfth ranked Sloga (8-16) 82-81 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Dynamic BG. Sloga shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Petar Vorkapic (194-95) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Nemanja Simovic (192-95) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Andreja Stevanovic (189-95) with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Sloga maintains twelfth position with 8-16 record. Newly promoted Dynamic BG keeps the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Borac. Sloga are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Konstantin (#14) in Nis in the next round. Dynamic BG will play on the road against Smederevo (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Zemun. Fourth ranked Spartak (15-9) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Mladost ZE (13-11) 99-96 in the fight for the fourth place. The winners were led by Djordje Tresac (193-87, agency: 011 Sports) who scored that evening 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Nikola Hristov supported him with 26 points. Even 28 points and 7 rebounds by center Milenko Veljkovic (216-95) did not help to save the game for Mladost ZE. Spartak maintains fourth position with 15-9 record. Mladost ZE at the other side keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Spartak will play against OKK Beograd (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mladost ZE will play against the league's leader Vrsac (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Smederevo managed to get a third victory, breaking the seven-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they won against fifth-ranked Dunav SB in Stari Banovci 86-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dunav SB. The best player for the winners was Goga Bitadze who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Nikola Vukovic who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Dunav SB's coach Vuk Stanimirovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Smederevo (3-21) moved-up to thirteenth place. Newly promoted Dunav SB keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Smederevo will meet at home higher ranked Dynamic BG (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Dunav SB will play against Beovuk 72 in Beograd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
KLS top team - Vrsac (20-4) added another victory to their record. This time they beat tenth ranked Metalac (11-13) 94-87. It was a good game for Bojan Krstovic who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Vrsac's coach Vladimir Djokic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Vrsac have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-4 record. Metalac lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 13 games lost. Vrsac's next round opponent will be Mladost ZE (#7) in Zemun where they are favorite. Metalac will play at home against Tamis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Third ranked Borac (18-6) crushed at home 11th ranked OKK Beograd (9-15) by 29 points 90-61, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of Marko Radovanovic who helped to win the game recording 17 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Borac's coach Rasko Bojic felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Borac moved-up to second place, which they share with Dynamic BG. Loser OKK Beograd keeps the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Borac will face KK Napredak Rubin Krusevac (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. OKK Beograd will play against Spartak and hope to win that game.

In the last two games of round 24 Napredak K. won against Konstantin on the opponent's court 81-67. Tamis unfortunately lost to Beovuk 72 in a home game 86-91.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 16 points and 8 rebounds by Djukan Djukanovic of Metalac.

Mladost ZE - Spartak 96-99

Important game to mention about took place in Zemun. Fourth ranked Spartak (15-9) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Mladost ZE (13-11) 99-96 in the fight for the fourth place. Spartak forced 24 Mladost ZE turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. Mladost ZE was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by Djordje Tresac (193-87, agency: 011 Sports) who scored that evening 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Nikola Hristov (190-92, agency: Mansfield and Associates) supported him with 26 points. Even 28 points and 7 rebounds by center Milenko Veljkovic (216-95) did not help to save the game for Mladost ZE. Center Veljko Brkic (206-95) added 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Mladost ZE players scored in double figures. Spartak maintains fourth position with 15-9 record. Mladost ZE at the other side keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. KLS top team - Vrsac (20-4) added another victory to their record. This time they beat tenth ranked Metalac (11-13) 94-87. It was a good game for guard Bojan Krstovic (194-80, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Miljan Pavkovic (178-81) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Vrsac's coach Vladimir Djokic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Brano Djukanovic (194-95) replied with 29 points and guard Aleksandar Vasic (185-87) added 13 points and 7 assists in the effort for Metalac. Worth to mention a quality performance of power forward Marko Radovanovic (205-96) who helped to win the game recording 17 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and guard Djordje Micic (196-83) who added 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. Rather expected game in Nis where 13th ranked Konstantin (2-22) was defeated by tenth ranked KK Napredak Rubin Krusevac (12-12) 81-67 on Saturday. KK Napredak Rubin Krusevac forced 19 Konstantin turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of center Milan Markovic (208-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Jovan Djordjevic (198-93) who added 20 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Milos Stojanovic (207-94) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks and swingman Slavisa Bogavac (200-80) scored 20 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KK Napredak Rubin Krusevac moved-up to ninth place. Loser Konstantin dropped to the bottom. KK Napredak Rubin Krusevac will face league's second-placed Borac in Cacak in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. The best player for the winners was Georgian power forward Goga Bitadze (210-99) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Novak Music (188-98, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Montenegrin power forward Nikola Vukovic (202-90) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and guard Nemanja Nenadic (185-94) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Pancevo where eighth ranked Beovuk 72 (13-11) defeated 7th ranked Tamis (13-11) 91-86 on Saturday.
