Svit - Handlova 105-82

Svit surged ahead in the quarterfinal series versus Handlova following a comfortable home victory. The game was mostly controlled by Svit. Handlova managed to win second period 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Svit looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Kenneth Henderson (201-82, college: Texas Arlington) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Croatian guard Petar Cosic (186-85, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 15 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. Four Svit players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Anthony Jones (194-84, college: Indiana Tech) with 25 points and 4 assists and the other American import forward Jermaine Green (203-80, college: N.Texas) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Komarno - Vahostav-Zilina 100-59

Komarno advanced into the semifinals. They swept the quarterfinal series against Vahostav-Zilina. The game without a history. Komarno led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Vahostav-Zilina's 36. Komarno looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Vahostav-Zilina's players. The best player for the winners was Czech forward Jan Kratochvil (200-82) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Dominique Keller (203-88, college: Illinois) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Keller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Komarno players scored in double figures. Komarno's coach Frantisek Ron felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Ondrej Soska (208-78) who recorded 13 points and 7 rebounds and guard Viliam Kosa (190-86) added 13 points respectively.

Prievidza - Levice 77-80

Levice toppled Prievidza to take 2-1 lead in the series. The guests were already 16 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 29-16 Prievidza's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 80-77 at the end of the game. Levice forced 20 Prievidza turnovers. Strangely Prievidza outrebounded Levice 39-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for Croatian-Slovenian forward Stipe Modric (206-79) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Keaton Grant (193-86, college: Purdue) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Levice players scored in double figures. Levice's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard David Godbold (196-85, college: Oklahoma, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and Bermudas-British swingman Sullivan Phillips (198-79, college: Wash.Adventist, agency: Interperformances) added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Prievidza.

Nitra retained the lead against Nova Ves after a home victory. Nitra dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Nova Ves' 26. They outrebounded Nova Ves 49-30 including a 39-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Nitra made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for Australian forward Ater Majok (208-87, college: Connecticut) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international center Branislav Tomek (205-83) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Nitra players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Pavol Losonsky (203-88, college: Cal-Irvine) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and Congolese-French forward Jean-Felix Moupegnou (201-82, college: Alabama) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds.

Serbian Milan Milovanovic (205-F/C-91, agency: 011 Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for Prievidza and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 27. The 25-year old power forward had a double-double of 19 points and ten rebounds, while his team outclassed Nitra (#11, 2-22) with 42-point margin 107-65. Newly promoted MBK Lucenec (SBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 22-year old American power forward Jervon Pressley (203-113kg-95, college: Hampton). Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Fifth-ranked Rieker KN (12-11) made lots of trouble for second ranked Inter Bratislava (19-6) on Saturday. Inter Bratislava managed to secure only one-point victory 90-89. However their fans expected easier game.
