Slovakia meanwhile will play for the 15-16th places. Iceland took 18-12 at the end of the first period and continued their dominance in the rest of the half. They added 18-15 in the second frame for 36:27 lead. Both teams scored 19 points each in the third period and then Iceland added another 19-13 in the last stanza. Fridriksson made the last free throws in the game for the final result. Thorgrimur Emilsson (206-C-94) chipped in with 14 points to pace the winners, while Valur Valsson (182-PG-94) nailed 13. Martin Hermannsson (190-SG-94) scored 10, while Matthias Sigurdarson (185-PG-94) added 9. MBK Rieker Komarno outscored and outjumped their opponent by 22 (99:77) points and 14 rebounds (35:12). "We were too soft, lacking energy. We should have fought more for the win," said Peter Sedmak (207-C-85), forward of BK Inter Bratislava who was leading the team. Komarno also made huge part of win in defense. "The key to our play in the second half was our intensity on defense. We played at a high level on defense and that lead to easy fast break points and easy offense," claimed Amin Stevens (198-F-90, college: Florida A&M) of Komarno, the only player reaching double-double in game one. The important thing about game two, Inter will field Martin Rancik (204-F/C-78, college: Iowa St.) who did not play because of ban (three technical fouls in the season). "Rancik is very good player. It will make a big difference when he'll play in game 2," gives his respect Komarno's guard Vincent Simpson (185-G-88, agency: R.H.Consultancy, college: Hampton) and Kevin Thompson (205-F-89, college: Morgan St.), who led the season with rebounds agrees: "It's going to be a big difference because he is a really good player.
