Radoslav Rancik joins Inter Bratislava on 'open deal' - Sep 20, 2012

Radoslav Rancik (207-F/C-79, agency: Beo Basket, college: St.Cloud St.) will start the season with Inter Bratislava. The Slovakian star signed an 'open deal' and he can leave Inter anytime. Rancik spent last season with Azovmash Mariupol. He had 8.4 ppg and 4.2 rpg in 42 Ukrainian league games. He helped Azovmash to reach the Playoff Finals, but they failed to Donetsk. In EuroCup, Radoslav Rancik shined with 14 ppg and 6.8 rpg for 6 games. He also added 10.7 ppg and 4.8 rpg for 16 appearances in VTB United League. Before Azovmash, Rancik spent two years with Galatasaray Cafecrown Istanbul. In their first season together he exploded with 16.9 ppg and 6.2 rpg for 30 TBL games. Rancik also was third scorer and second rebounder of the EuroCup with 18.8 ppg and 6.9 rpg for 12 games. He was named Eurobasket.com All-Turkish League Center of the Year -10 and also Eurobasket.com All-Turkish League Bosman Player of the Year -10. The player was awarded with Eurobasket.com All-EuroCup 2nd Team -10. In 2010/11, Rancik had much lower numbers. In the past, he played for Benetton Treviso and CEZ Basketball Nymburk.

American-Jamaican Power forward Phil Henry (203-PF-91) put on an amazing game in the last round for Nova Ves, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 42. The 25-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 11 rebounds, while his team Nova Ves maintains the 10th position in Slovakian SBL. There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in SBL. The most exciting game of round 42 in the SBL took place in Levice. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-best Inter Bratislava (28-10) to fourth ranked Levice (25-13) 87-85 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Inter Bratislava. 31-year old power forward Peter Sedmak (207-F/C-85, agency: 011 Sports) had an amazing evening in the last round for Handlova and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 41. He had a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed Nitra (#11, 3-33) with 27-point margin 101-74. Handlova maintains the 8th position in Slovakian league.
