Bahamas J.R. Cadot (195-G-87) had a very impressive game in the last round for Nitra and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 25-year old guard had the game-high 26 points adding six rebounds and seven assists for Nitra as his team was edged out by Komarno (#2, 3-1) 95-91. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Nitra moved-up to the 3rd position in the Slovakian Extraliga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Nitra will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Cadot had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Nitra's top player in his first season with the team. Texas Christian University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Cadot is league's best scorer averaging so far 18.0ppg. Cadot is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 6.2rpg), assists (7th best: 3.2apg) and averages solid 1.4bpg,2.4spg,61.9% FGP and 43.8% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Nitra's star - 29-year old former international center Branislav Tomek (205-C-83). Tomek impressed basketball fans with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Bad luck as Nitra was edged by slightly higher-ranked Komarno (#2, 3-1) 95-91. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Nitra still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 3-2 record is not bad at all. Tomek is one of the most experienced players at Nitra and similarly like J.R. Cadot has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Jason Davis (196-G/F-85) of Handlova (#5). Davis scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was a key player of Handlova, leading his team to a 82-69 easy win against the lower-ranked Svit (#9, 1-4). Handlova needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Davis has a great season in Slovakia. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.3ppg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Dwight Burke (202-C/F-86) of Nova Ves - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Maurice Acker (173-PG-87) of Nova Ves - 21 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists
6. Barkley Falkner (203-F/C-86) of Prievidza - 23 points and 7 rebounds
7. Salih Nuhanovic (208-C-82) of Levice - 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Zack Crimmins (213-C-89) of Handlova - 15 points and 10 rebounds
9. Ondrej Haviar (194-F-85) of Handlova - 15 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Maj Kovacevic (190-G-90) of Nitra - 20 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
