It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in Extraliga, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders.

Round 7 in Extraliga means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Komarno where host Komarno (5-1) beat league's leader Inter Bratislava (4-2) 89-85 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 26-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Inter Bratislava helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Kevin Thompson (205-F-89, college: Morgan St.) (205-89, college: Morgan St.) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. International swingman Martin Bilik (194-87) chipped in 21 points. American guard Justin Graham produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists for lost side. Komarno have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Inter Bratislava at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Levice. They were replaced at the leadership position by Komarno. Inter Bratislava will play next round against Nova Ves trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Komarno will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Handlova on the road.
The game in Prievidza was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Nitra (4-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Prievidza (2-4). Nitra defeated Prievidza 76-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Prievidza. Worth to mention a great performance of Bahamas guard J.R. Cadot (195-87, college: TCU) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. Anthony McClain contributed with 16 points for the winners. point guard Robert Sturcel (184-93) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds for Prievidza. Nitra maintains fourth place with 4-3 record, which they share with Nova Ves. Defending champion Prievidza dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with B.Bystrica. Nitra will play against SKP Banska Bystrica (#7) on the road in the next round. Prievidza will have a break next round.

Levice moved-up to second place, which they share with Inter Bratislava. SKP Banska Bystrica lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Prievidza. Levice will meet bottom-ranked Svit (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SKP Banska Bystrica will play against Nitra in Nitra and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 7 bottom-ranked Svit was defeated by Nova Ves in a road game 93-85.
The best stats of 7th round was 25 points and 8 assists by Kenneth Henderson of Svit.

Levice - B.Bystrica 94-73

The game with biggest result difference took place in Levice. Local Levice (4-2) outscored 6th ranked SKP Banska Bystrica (2-4) 94-73 on Monday night. The game was mostly controlled by Levice. SKP Banska Bystrica managed to win third quarter 28-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded SKP Banska Bystrica 40-26 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of Slovenian center Salih Nuhanovic (208-82) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. International swingman Martin Sykora (192-81) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side the former international point guard Richard Grznar (189-91) responded with 18 points and Croatian forward Sasa Jankovic (204-84) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Levice and four SKP Banska Bystrica players scored in double figures. Nova Ves - Svit 93-85

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Svit (1-6) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Nova Ves (4-3) 93-85 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-85. Nova Ves shot 23 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Svit only scored seven points from the stripe. It was a great evening for American point guard Maurice Acker (178-87, college: Marquette, agency: Edge Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Serbian power forward Aco Mandic (204-84) helped adding 17 points and 10 rebounds. Five Nova Ves players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Kenneth Henderson (201-82, college: Texas Arlington) responded with 25 points and 8 assists and Australian guard Anthony Stewart (196-70) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Svit's coach Ivan Fulgosi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Nova Ves. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Nitra. Svit lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Nova Ves will meet league's second-placed Inter Bratislava on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Svit will play against Levice (#3).

Prievidza - Nitra 65-76

The game in Prievidza was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Nitra (4-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Prievidza (2-4). Nitra defeated Prievidza 76-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Prievidza. It looked good early as Prievidza took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Nitra had a 20-8 second period charge getting the lead and Prievidza was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-76. Worth to mention a great performance of Bahamas guard J.R. Cadot (195-87, college: TCU) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. American center Anthony McClain (213-88, college: Cincinnati) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Nitra players scored in double figures. point guard Robert Sturcel (184-93) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Paul Gause (180-86, college: Seton Hall, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 13 points in the effort for Prievidza. Nitra maintains fourth place with 4-3 record, which they share with Nova Ves. Defending champion Prievidza dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with B.Bystrica. Nitra will play against SKP Banska Bystrica (#7) on the road in the next round. Prievidza will have a break next round.
