American Maurice Acker (178-PG-87, agency: Edge Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for Nova Ves and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 25-year old playmaker had the game-high 34 points adding six rebounds and three assists for Nova Ves in his team's victory, helping them to beat Svit (#9, 1-6) 93-85. Nova Ves maintains the 5th position in Slovakian Extraliga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Nova Ves will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. In the team's last game Acker had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Nova Ves' top player in his first season with the team. Maurice Acker averages just after three games 26.0ppg and 6.7apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 30-year old American forward Kenneth Henderson (201-F-82) of Svit. Henderson impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists. Bad luck as Svit lost that game 85-93 to the higher-ranked Nova Ves (#5, 4-3). Svit are still at the very bottom. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Svit managed to get this year. Henderson is a newcomer at Svit and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.3ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 7.0rpg and 3.4apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Justin Graham (193-G-88) of second-ranked Inter Bratislava. Graham showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, ten rebounds and nine assists in the last round. Despite Graham's great performance Inter Bratislava lost 85-89 to #1 ranked Komarno. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Inter Bratislava needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Graham has a great season in Slovakia. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.4ppg (3rd best) and assists with 3.4apg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Salih Nuhanovic (208-C-82) of Levice - 16 points and 13 rebounds
5. Anthony Stewart (196-G-70) of Svit - 19 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Kevin Thompson (205-F-89) of Komarno - 14 points and 11 rebounds
7. Aco Mandic (204-C/F-84) of Nova Ves - 17 points and 10 rebounds
8. Robert Nuber (188-PG-83) of Levice - 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Jaroslav Moravek (200-F/C-92) of Levice - 16 points and 4 rebounds
10. Martin Bilik (194-G/F-87) of Komarno - 21 points

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Handlova inks Kenny Rhymes, ex Trepca - 3 hours ago

MBK Handlova (SBL) agreed terms with 25-year old American guard Kenny Rhymes (196-88kg-91, college: Texas Wesleyan). He played last season at Trepca in Kosovan SuperLeague, but left the team in Mar.'16. In three games he had very impressive stats: 17.3ppg, 5.7rpg and 2.3apg. The previous (14-15) season Rhymes played at SKP Banska Bystrica where in 16 SBL games he recorded 7.6ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.3apg. He helped them to make it to the Slovakian Cup Semis final in 2015. Milan Ziak
Ziak's 23 points and 9 rebounds give him Player of the Week award - 4 hours ago

28-year old guard Milan Ziak (190-G-88) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Kosice and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 16. He had the game-high 23 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for Kosice in his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Nova Ves (#11, 0-15) with 27-point margin 97-70. SBL Round 16: Top-ranked Inter Bratislava wins another game - 1 day ago

Inter Bratislava shot 60.4 percent from the field. Inter Bratislava had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds.
