Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

The game between third ranked Inter Bratislava (5-3) and fourth ranked Levice (6-2) was the most important one in the last round on Monday night. Inter Bratislava was defeated by Levice in a tough game in Levice 66-73. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Inter Bratislava was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 18-10 charge of Levice, which allowed them to win the game. American guard David Kyles (190-89, college: Wichita St.) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Brockeith Pane (188-88, college: Utah St.) chipped in 16 points. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Martin Rancik (204-78, college: Iowa St.) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Levice have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Inter Bratislava at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Levice are looking forward to face Handlova (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Inter Bratislava will play against Nitra in Nitra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

American power forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and Maurice Acker accounted for 21 points and 9 assists. International Roman Vido (204-88) came up with 20 points and 9 rebounds for Handlova in the defeat. Nova Ves maintains fifth place with 5-4 record. Handlova lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. Nova Ves will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Handlova will play at home against the league's second-placed Levice (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

In the last two games of round 9 B.Bystrica lost to Prievidza on the opponent's court 87-99. Nitra outscored Svit in a home game 101-77.

Prievidza - B.Bystrica 99-87

Rather expected game when 8th ranked SKP Banska Bystrica (2-6) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Prievidza (3-4) 99-87. Defending champion maintains sixth place with 3-4 record. SKP Banska Bystrica lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. Prievidza will play against league's leader Komarno on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SKP Banska Bystrica will play against Svit (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Nova Ves - Handlova 92-63

Fifth ranked Nova Ves (5-4) crushed at home 7th ranked Handlova (2-5) by 29 points 92-63, which is the biggest margin this round. The game was mostly controlled by Nova Ves. Handlova was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Handlova to just 6 points in third quarter. Nova Ves made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Handlova was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard Maurice Acker (178-87, college: Marquette, agency: Edge Sports) accounted for 21 points and 9 assists. Burke is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Nova Ves players scored in double figures. International Roman Vido (204-88) came up with 20 points and 9 rebounds and American swingman Jason Davis (196-85, college: Sacramento St.) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Handlova in the defeat. Nova Ves maintains fifth place with 5-4 record. Handlova lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. Very predictable result when fourth ranked Nitra (6-3) smashed at home bottom-ranked Svit (1-8) 101-77. The game without a history. Nitra led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American point guard Deremy Geiger (180-90, college: Idaho) nailed 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and the former international center Branislav Tomek (205-83) accounted for 12 points and 13 rebounds. Nitra's coach Lubomir Urban felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Curtis Allen (193-86, college: ORU, agency: TSS Management) came up with 26 points and the other American import center Tyronne McNeal (211-87, college: Miami Dade CC) added 21 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Svit in the defeat. Five Nitra and four Svit players scored in double figures. Nitra have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Svit lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Nitra will play against Inter Bratislava (#4) on the road in the next round. BK 04 AC LB Spisska Nova Ves (SBL) signed Canadian forward Matt Marshall (198-98kg, college: Brock). It is actually his comeback to Nova Ves as he has played here before. Marshall played last season at Niagara River Lions in Canadian NBL. But in three NBL Canada games he had just 0.7ppg. Marshall also played that season for BK 04 AC LB Spisska Nova Ves where in 26 SBL games he recorded 7.3ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.4apg. BC Prievidza (SBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 23-year old American forward Chris Perry (203-113kg-94). He just graduated from Lincoln Memorial (NCAA2). In 28 games he recorded very impressive stats: 17.7ppg, 8.4rpg and 1.3bpg last season. Perry helped them to make it to the final and they also made it to the NCAA D2 Final Four.
