Round 11 in Extraliga means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Nova Ves where host Nova Ves (6-4) beat league's leader Komarno (7-2) 85-73 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Komarno. The game without a history. Nova Ves led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard Maurice Acker (178-PG-87, agency: Edge Sports, college: Marquette) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 assists. Power forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Kevin Thompson (205-89, college: Morgan St.) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds for the guests. Nova Ves moved-up to fourth place. Komarno at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Levice. They were replaced at the leadership position by Nitra. Komarno will play next round against strong Levice trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Nova Ves will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Prievidza at home.
The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Nitra as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Nitra smashed 7th ranked Handlova at home 91-72. American point guard Deremy Geiger (180-90, college: Idaho) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). J.R. Cadot contributed with 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Nitra's coach Lubomir Urban allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman Jason Davis (196-85, college: Sacramento St.) answered with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for Handlova. Nitra (8-3) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Handlova lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. Handlova will play next round against SKP Banska Bystrica trying to get back on the winning streak. Nitra will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
An interesting game where host SKP Banska Bystrica (#8) won against 4th placed Inter Bratislava 81-75 on Saturday evening. SKP Banska Bystrica (3-7) moved-up to seventh place. Inter Bratislava lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. SKP Banska Bystrica will meet Handlova (#8) on the road in the next round. Inter Bratislava will play against Svit and hope to secure a win.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Prievidza. Local Prievidza (4-5) outscored 9th ranked Svit (2-9) 89-67. The game was also dominated by American players. It was a quality performance for Paul Gause who led the winners and scored 30 points and 5 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains sixth place with 4-5 record. Svit at the other side stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Prievidza's next round opponent will be higher ranked Nova Ves (#4) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Svit will play against Inter Bratislava (#5).

Nitra made 23-of-27 charity shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Nitra outrebounded Handlova 37-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. Handlova was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch.
