Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Komarno as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Komarno defeated one of their biggest challengers Levice at home 78-71. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Levice. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Levice won third quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by Levice helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Kevin Thompson (205-F-89, college: Morgan St.) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. point guard Chris Lowe (182-87, college: Massachusetts, agency: KMG Sports Management) chipped in 13 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard David Kyles (190-89, college: Wichita St.) who recorded 23 points and 8 rebounds. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted Levice keeps the third place with three games lost. Levice will play next round against strong Nova Ves trying to get back on the winning streak. Komarno will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Nitra in Nitra.
The game in Handlova was also worth to mention about. 7th ranked SKP Banska Bystrica (3-8) played at the court of eighth ranked Handlova (3-7). Handlova managed to secure a 4-point victory 111-107. Handlova moved-up to seventh place. SKP Banska Bystrica at the other side dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Handlova will play against bottom-ranked Svit (#9) on the road in the next round. SKP Banska Bystrica will have a break next round.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Nova Ves. Local Nova Ves (7-4) beat 6th ranked Prievidza (4-6) 96-82 on Wednesday night. The game was also dominated by American players. Worth to mention a quality performance of Maurice Acker who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 assists and 4 steals (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was Paul Gause with 17 points and 4 assists. Nova Ves have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 7-4 record. Defending champion Prievidza keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Nova Ves will meet higher ranked Levice (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Prievidza will play against Inter Bratislava and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 12 bottom-ranked Svit was defeated by Inter Bratislava in a road game 80-70.

Handlova - B.Bystrica 111-107

The game in Handlova was also worth to mention about. 7th ranked SKP Banska Bystrica (3-8) played at the court of eighth ranked Handlova (3-7). Handlova managed to secure a 4-point victory 111-107. Inter Bratislava - Svit 80-70

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Svit (2-10) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Inter Bratislava (6-5) 80-70 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Inter Bratislava. Svit managed to win second period 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Martin Rancik (204-78, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian guard Nenad Milosevic (190-83) who added 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard John Boyer (185-88, college: Buffalo) with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Kenneth Henderson (201-82, college: Texas Arlington) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Inter Bratislava maintains fifth position with 6-5 record. Loser Svit stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Inter Bratislava will meet Prievidza (#6) on the road in the next round. Svit will play against Handlova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
