#1. This week's number one is an international point guard Anton Gavel (188-84, agency: Pro One Sports, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Germany. He could not help Brose Baskets Bamberg (2-6) in their last game. Despite Gavel's very good performance the fourth-placed Brose Baskets Bamberg lost 89-97 on the road to the second-ranked CSKA Moscow in the group D of Euroleague.
He was the second best scorer with 16 points. Gavel also added 4 passes in 30 minutes on the court.
It was Brose Baskets Bamberg's third consecutive loss in a row.
There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
It's Gavel's fourth season with the team.
He has relatively good stats this year: 13.1ppg, 1.9rpg, 2.6apg, 2FGP: 59.5%(22-37), 3FGP: 47.2%(17-36) and FT: 66.7% in the eight games he played so far.
Gavel is currently a member of the Slovakian senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to an experienced former international power forward Radoslav Rancik (207-79, agency: Beo Basket, college: St.Cloud St., currently plays in Czech Republic). He led CEZ Nymburk to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Basketbal Svitavy (3-10) crushing them 93-55 in the Czech Republic NBL last Friday.
Rancik scored 12 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line).
CEZ Basketball Nymburk (13-0) is placed first in the NBL.
So far his team won all thirteen games in the Regular Season.
It's Rancik's first season with the team.
This year he has relatively solid stats: 11.9ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.6apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 47.9%, 3FGP: 36.4% and FT: 89.3%.
Former BK Inter Bratislava starter played for the Slovakian national team in 2010.
#3. The Slovakian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Pavol Losonsky (203-88, college: Cal-Irvine, currently plays in United Kingdom). Losonsky led Leicester Riders to a victory over the ninth-ranked Durham Wildcats (3-8) crushing them 91-68 in the British BBL on Saturday night.
He was MVP of the game. Losonsky scored 22 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 27 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Jelson Homes DMU Leicester City Riders (11-1) is placed first in the BBL.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
Losonsky has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.2ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.9apg, 2FGP: 51.2%, 3FGP: 41.2% and FT: 70.7% in the 11 games.
Losonsky is also a member of the Slovakian senior national team.
#4. Small forward Dusan Pandula (196-84, currently plays in Czech Republic) was the major contributor in a BK Prostejov's victory against the league outsider BK Lions Hradec (2-11) 106-92 in the Czech Republic NBL in Saturday night's game.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 10 rebounds. Pandula also added 3 assists.
BK Prostejov (8-5) is placed third in the NBL.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
Pandula has reliable stats this season: 10.7ppg, 5.1rpg and 2.2apg.
He is also Slovakian national team player.
#5. International center Peter Sedmak (207-85, currently plays in Czech Republic), who plays in the Czech Republic NBL was not able to help BK Decin (6-5) in their last game. Despite Sedmak's very good performance BK Decin lost 67-79 in Opava to the lower-ranked (#10) B&W Opava.
He was the top scorer with 23 points. Sedmak also added 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 36 minutes.
Sedmak has very impressive stats this year: 15.4ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.5apg in the 11 games.
He used to play for the Slovakian national team
last year.
#6. Power forward Justin Sedlak (205-87, college: Florida Tech, currently plays in Sweden), who plays in the Swedish Basketligan was not able to secure a victory for Solna Vikings (7-7) in their last game. Despite Sedlak's good performance Solna Vikings lost 76-91 in Norrkoping to the higher-ranked (#4) Dolphins.
He scored 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 25 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Sedlak's second season in pro basketball. Sedlak's stats this year are: 13.7ppg and 5.5rpg in the 11 games.
He is a former international player as he played for the Slovakian senior team two years ago.
#7. International shooting guard Roman Marko (194-86, currently plays in Czech Republic) is a teammate of previously mentioned Dusan Pandula and both played together in the last Czech Republic NBL game.
Marko contributed to a BK Prostejov's victory against the league outsider BK Lions Hradec (2-11) 106-92.
He recorded 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
Marko's overall stats this season are: 7.2ppg, 3.8rpg and 2.1apg.
He is also Slovakian national team player.
#8. Point guard Richard Grznar (189-91, currently plays in Czech Republic) couldn't help Levice (6-7) in their game against B&W Opava (5-8) in the Czech Republic NBL.
Grznar scored 8 points in 22 minutes. It was his first game for Levice this season.
Levice was crushed 83-55 in Opava by the lower-ranked (#10) B&W Opava.
Grznar used to play for the Slovakian national team
back in 2010.
#9. Former international center Martin Miklosik (225-86, currently plays in Czech Republic) faced previously mentioned Richard Grznar in the Czech Republic NBL last game.
Miklosik helped B&W Opava win their game against the closely-ranked Levice (6-7) crushing them 83-55.
He scored 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 23 minutes.
Miklosik is currently third on the list of best blockers with 1.5bpg.
This year he also averages: 6.0ppg and 5.2rpg in the 13 games.
Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Miklosik used to play for the Slovakian national team
two years ago.
#10. Center Boris Bojanovsky (221-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the Florida St. in their game against the University of Minnesota (0-0) in the NCAA. He cannot count Tuesday's game as one of the best ones.
Bojanovsky recorded only 3 points and blocked 3 blocks.
The Florida St. was defeated 77-68 at home by the University of Minnesota.
Bojanovsky's overall stats this season are: 6.0ppg and 5.2rpg.
He is U20 international player who is currently on the Slovakian National Team roster.
#11. International swingman Martin Sykora (192-81, currently plays in Czech Republic) is a teammate of previously mentioned Richard Grznar. But that was another game of his team in Czech Republic NBL which we would like to mention.
Sykora managed to help Astrum Levice in a victory against one of league's weakest teams Basketbal Svitavy 74-66.
He recorded only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 20 minutes.
This year Sykora's overall stats are: 5.8ppg and 3.5rpg in the 13 games.
He plays currently for the Slovakian national team.
#12. Former U20 international forward Richard Lesko (204-81, college: Ill.-Chicago, currently plays in Czech Republic) faced previously mentioned Radoslav Rancik in the Czech Republic NBL last game.
Lesko couldn't help Basketbal Svitavy in their game against CEZ Nymburk. He cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones.
Lesko scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 16 minutes.
His team was crushed by 38 points 93-55.
This year his total stats are: 5.9ppg and 3.3rpg in the 11 games.
Lesko used to play for the Slovakian U20 national team
back in 1999.
#13. U20 international forward Viktor Juricek (208-93, currently studies in the States) helped S.Alabama win their game against the Florida Atlantic University 77-66 in the NCAA last Thursday.
Juricek scored only 2 points in 2 minutes on the court.
Juricek has averaged so far 4.4ppg and 3.4rpg in the eight games.
He is also Slovakian U20 national team player.

#1.Darius Silinskis (216-C-84, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Lithuania) was the major contributor in Nevezis' victory against the closely-ranked Juventus (4-3) 74-73 in the Lithuanian LKL on Saturday night.
Silinskis scored 14 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and made 3 blocks.
Nevezis Kedainiai (4-4) is placed sixth in the LKL.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
Silinskis is currently second on the list of best blockers.
His overall stats this season are: 7.4ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.4apg and 2.1bpg.
#2.Peter Simek (205-C-88, agency: Dynamics Global Management, college: Cal-Irvine, currently plays in United Kingdom) managed to help Surrey Heat to win against the tenth-ranked Manchester Giants (3-9) 83-71 in the British BBL in Saturday night's game.
He recorded 5 points.
Surrey Heat (9-2) is placed third in the BBL.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
Simek's overall stats this year are: 5.5ppg and 4.4rpg.
#3. Experienced Stefan Svitek (203-F/C-77, currently plays in Luxembourg), who plays in the Luxembourg Diekirch League could not help Basket Esch (2-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Svitek's good performance Basket Esch was crushed 86-63 on the road by the higher-ranked Contern (#4).
He recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 13 rebounds.
Svitek is ranked sixth on the list of the best rebounders in the league.
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Svitek averages: 15.6ppg, 10.3rpg, 1.7apg and 1.2spg.
#4.Filip Kramer (200-SF-92, currently plays in Austria) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams St.Polten (1-8) crushing them 85-65 in the Austrian A Bundesliga in Sunday night's game.
He scored only 2 points.
ECE Bulls Kapfenberg (5-3) is placed third in the A Bundesliga.
Kramer has averaged so far 4.4ppg and 3.4rpg.
He has a dual citizenship: Slovakian and Austrian.

Inter Bratislava outlasted Komarno in overtime to record the second consecutive victory in the championship series. Komarno was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 21-20 charge of Inter Bratislava, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. At the losing side American forward Amin Stevens (201-90, college: Florida A&M) responded with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Kevin Thompson (205-89, college: Morgan St.) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five Komarno players scored in double figures. #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Anton Gavel (188-84, agency: Pro One Sports, currently plays in Germany). He led Brose Baskets Bamberg to a victory over the seventh-ranked Phoenix Hagen (18-16) 104-94 in the German BBL in Sunday night's game.
Gavel was MVP of the game. He scored 26 points (!!!) and added 6 assists in 34 minutes on the court.
Brose Baskets Bamberg (26-8) is placed first in the BBL.
It's Gavel's fourth season with the team.
Gavel is ranked seventh on the list of the top scorers in the league with 15.0ppg.
He also averaged so far 2.8rpg, 3.5apg, 2FGP: 57.0%(98-172), 3FGP: 46.0%(81-176) and FT: 74.3% in the 36 games he played so far.
Gavel has a dual citizenship: Slovakian and German.
He is currently a member of the Slovakian senior national team.

The former international power forward Martin Rancik (204-78, college: Iowa St.) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Amin Stevens (201-90, college: Florida A&M) with 26 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import point guard Chris Lowe (182-87, college: Massachusetts, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Five Inter Bratislava and four Komarno players scored in double figures. Komarno's coach Frantisek Ron rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
