Curtis Allen
American Curtis Allen (193-G-86, agency: TSS Management) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Svit and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 26-year old guard had a double-double of 22 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team beat Handlova (#7, 3-8) 82-69. Svit maintains the 9th position in Slovakian Extraliga. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Svit have already lost 10 games and recorded just three victories. Allen turned to be Svit's top player in his first season with the team. Oral Roberts University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Allen is in league's top in points (6th best: 16.4ppg) and averages solid 2.2spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Svit's star - 30-year old American forward Kenneth Henderson (201-F-82). Henderson impressed basketball fans with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course together with Allen he helped Svit with another comfortable win 82-69 over slightly higher-ranked Handlova (#7, 3-8) being unquestionably team leader. Despite this victory they still are the league outsider. 10 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Svit managed to get this year. Henderson is a newcomer at Svit and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.1ppg (#2). He also registered 7.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Svit's star - Australian Anthony Stewart (196-G-70). Stewart scored 19 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was another key player of Svit, helping his team with a 82-69 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Handlova (#7, 3-8). Svit can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 3-10 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Stewart he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Stewart has individually a great season in Slovakia. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 6.8rpg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jeremy Simmons (204-F-89) of Levice - 18 points and 13 rebounds
5. Kevin Thompson (205-F-89) of Komarno - 17 points and 12 rebounds
6. Maurice Acker (178-PG-87) of Nova Ves - 27 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists
7. Dwight Burke (202-C/F-86) of Nova Ves - 23 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Michal Batka (204-PF-87) of Prievidza - 13 points and 6 rebounds
9. Milan Ziak (190-G-88) of Prievidza - 19 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Salih Nuhanovic (208-C-82) of Levice - 14 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
