Anthony
McClain
24-year old center Anthony McClain (213-C-88) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Nitra and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 18.
He had a double-double of 16 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat Svit (#9, 3-14) 76-71. Nitra is placed at 3rd position in Slovakian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Nitra will need more victories to improve their 11-6 record. It was one of impressive evenings for McClain as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Anthony McClain averages this season 9.1ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Justin Graham (193-G-88) of Inter Bratislava. He is American guard in his first season at Inter Bratislava. In the last game Graham recorded impressive double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Inter Bratislava cruised to a 79-68 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Levice (#4, 10-6). Inter Bratislava's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-9 record. Graham is a newcomer at Inter Bratislava and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Noah Dahlman (199-F-89) of B.Bystrica (#7). Dahlman scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of B.Bystrica, leading his team to a 92-81 win against slightly higher-ranked Prievidza (#5, 7-8). The chances of B.Bystrica not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 10 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Dahlman could try to bring B.Bystrica's a little bit higher in the standings. Dahlman has a very solid season. In 4 games in Slovakia he scored 21.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Martin Rancik (204-F/C-78) of Inter Bratislava - 26 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Curtis Allen (193-G-86) of Svit - 18 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Deremy Geiger (180-PG-90) of Nitra - 21 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Aco Mandic (204-C/F-84) of Nova Ves - 15 points and 10 rebounds
8. Dwight Burke (202-C/F-86) of Nova Ves - 22 points and 7 rebounds
9. Milan Ziak (190-G-88) of Prievidza - 23 points
10. Zack Crimmins (213-C-89) of Handlova - 20 points and 5 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Serbian Aleksa Solevic (188-G-93, agency: Dynamics Global Management) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Nova Ves and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 43. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence o...   [read more]

SBL Round 43 of Regular Season - 4 days ago
