Host teams show no mercy winning all games.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Komarno (13-3) on the court of fifth ranked Prievidza on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Prievidza 77-69. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Komarno. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-69. It was a great evening for American forward Joseph Harris (196-87, college: Co.Carolina) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 9 rebounds. International guard Milan Ziak (190-88) helped adding 25 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). At the losing side American forward Kevin Thompson (205-89, college: Morgan St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Defending champion maintains fifth place with 8-8 record. Komarno at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Prievidza are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Svit (#9) on the road in the next round. Komarno will play against Nova Ves (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Seventh ranked SKP Banska Bystrica (7-10) crushed at home 9th ranked Svit (3-15) by 18 points 85-67, which is the biggest margin this round. It was a quality performance for American forward Noah Dahlman (199-89, college: Wofford) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Sasa Jankovic accounted for 20 points. SKP Banska Bystrica's coach Ivan Kurilla allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Kenneth Henderson (201-82, college: Texas Arlington) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds for Svit in the defeat. SKP Banska Bystrica moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Inter Bratislava. Svit lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. SKP Banska Bystrica will play against Inter Bratislava (#6) on the road in the next round. Svit will play against Prievidza and hopes to get back on the winning track.

In the last game of round 19 Inter Bratislava lost to Nitra on the opponent's court 75-81.


Nitra - Inter Bratislava 81-75

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Inter Bratislava (7-10) was defeated on the road by third ranked Nitra (12-6) 81-75. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-10. But Inter Bratislava won second period 24-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Inter Bratislava was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Bahamas guard J.R. Cadot (195-87, college: TCU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international center Branislav Tomek (205-83) accounted for 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Nitra players scored in double figures. American guard Justin Graham (193-88, college: San Jose St.) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and Montenegrin guard Goran Bulatovic (184-88) added 16 points respectively for Inter Bratislava in the defeat. Inter Bratislava's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Nitra have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Inter Bratislava at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with B.Bystrica. Nitra will play against Handlova (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Inter Bratislava will play against SKP Banska Bystrica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

25-year old swingman Milic Blagojevic (200-G/F-91) had a great game in the last round for Lucenec and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 34. The most important game in the last round took place in MBK Handlova between third ranked Prievidza (20-10) and seventh ranked Handlova (15-16) on Wednesday night. Defending champion BC Prievidza (SBL) landed 31-year old American (has also Swedish passport) point guard Omar Krayem (186-87kg-86, college: Cal.Baptist). He played in the summer at Globalport in Filipino PBA league. Krayem managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!).
