#1. This week's number one is an international point guard Anton Gavel (188-84, agency: Pro One Sports, currently plays in Germany). He was the major contributor in a Brose Baskets Bamberg's victory against the 15th-ranked Telekom Baskets (5-9) 92-78 in the German BBL in Saturday night's game.
Gavel scored 21 points and added 4 passes in 30 minutes on the court.
Brose Baskets Bamberg (12-2) is placed first in the BBL.
It's Gavel's fourth season with the team.
He belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #6 with 14.7ppg.
Gavel also averaged so far 2.9rpg, 3.2apg, 2FGP: 65.8%(48-73), 3FGP: 41.1% and FT: 80.4% in the 14 games he played so far.
He is currently a member of the Slovakian senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to an experienced former international power forward Radoslav Rancik (207-79, agency: Beo Basket, college: St.Cloud St., currently plays in Czech Republic), who plays in the Czech Republic NBL. Rancik could not help CEZ Nymburk (17-1) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance the league leader CEZ Nymburk was edged 80-78 on the road by the lower-ranked BK Decin (#6).
Rancik was the top scorer with 17 points. He also added 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
Rancik has relatively good stats this season: 13.0ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.7apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 53.9%, 3FGP: 38.9% and FT: 83.3%.
Former BK Inter Bratislava starter played for the Slovakian national team in 2010.
#3. The Slovakian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international power forward Justin Sedlak (205-87, college: Florida Tech, currently plays in Sweden). He led Solna Vikings to a victory over the tenth-ranked White Eagles (4-15) crushing them 99-66 in the Swedish Basketligan on Friday night.
Sedlak was MVP of the game. He recorded 20 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 21 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Sedlak's second season in pro basketball. Solna Vikings (12-7) is placed fourth in the Basketligan.
It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row.
This year Sedlak has relatively solid stats: 14.3ppg, 5.4rpg, 2FGP: 59.7%(86-144), 3FGP: 35.3% and FT: 66.1% in the 16 games.
He played for the Slovakian national team two years ago.
#4. Center Martin Miklosik (225-86, currently plays in Czech Republic) was not able to help B&W Opava (6-12) in their game against Levharti Chomutov (8-11) in the Czech Republic NBL.
He recorded 8 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
B&W Opava was edged 82-80 at home by the higher-ranked Levharti Chomutov (#8).
It was B&W Opava's third consecutive loss in a row.
Miklosik belongs to league's best blockers and is ranked #3.
This season he averages: 5.7ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.4bpg.
Worth to mention Miklosik played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Miklosik used to play for the Slovakian national team
back in 2010.
#5. Former U20 international forward Richard Lesko (204-81, college: Ill.-Chicago, currently plays in Czech Republic) was not able to secure a victory for Basketbal Svitavy (6-12) in their game against BK Pardubice (11-6) in the Czech Republic NBL.
He recorded 6 points.
Basketbal Svitavy was defeated 95-86 in Pardubice by the much higher-ranked BK Pardubice (#3).
Lesko's overall stats this season are: 5.4ppg and 2.7rpg.
He used to play for the Slovakian U20 national team
thirteen years ago.
#6. Center Peter Sedmak (207-85, currently plays in Czech Republic) faced previously mentioned Radoslav Rancik in the Czech Republic NBL last game.
Sedmak managed to help BK Decin in a 2-point victoryagainst the league leader CEZ Nymburk (17-1) 80-78.
He recorded 5 points in 16 minutes.
Sedmak has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.8ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.5apg in the 17 games.
Sedmak is international player as he played for the Slovakian senior team one years ago.
#7. U20 international center Boris Bojanovsky (221-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an Florida St.'s surprising victory against the The University of Tulsa 82-63 in the NCAA on Saturday night.
Bojanovsky recorded only 2 points in 4 minutes on the court.
The Florida State University has conference record this season.
Bojanovsky has very impressive stats this year: 15.2ppg, 9.3rpg and 1.5apg in the 15 games.
He is also Slovakian U20 national team player.

He recorded only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 18 minutes.
Surrey Heat (11-3) is placed third in the BBL.
It's Simek's first season with the team.
This year Simek's overall stats are: 5.3ppg and 4.3rpg in the 12 games he played so far.
#2. Experienced Stefan Svitek (203-F/C-77, currently plays in Luxembourg), who plays in the Luxembourg Diekirch League could not help one of league's weakest teams Basket Esch (2-10) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance Basket Esch was badly defeated 102-86 on the road by the higher-ranked Sparta (#6).
Svitek was the top scorer with 20 points. He also added 7 rebounds.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.

Lapuan Korikobrat (Korisliiga) inked 28-year old American guard Mario Edwards (191-90kg-88, college: Co.Carolina, agency: Mansfield and Associates). He played most recently at BK Esprit Kosice in Slovakian SBL league. Edwards managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 34 SBL games he averaged 8.2ppg, 4.4rpg and 4.1apg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Edwards also played that season for Loimaan Korikonkarit where in only one Korisliiga game he had 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. He also played 1 game in VTB United League, but he did not score anything and had only 1 rebound and 1 assist. Edwards was selected to Kosovo League All-Star Game back in 2012. He is a very experienced player. Edwards has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). Edwards has played previously professionally in Austria (Redwell Gunners Oberwart), Brazil (Liga Sorocaba), Hungary (Sopron KC), Kosovo (Peja) and ABA (S.Carolina W.). He attended Coastal Carolina College until 2010 and it will be his seventh season in pro basketball.
