Kevin
Thompson
American forward Kevin Thompson (205-F-89) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Komarno, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Nitra (#3, 12-8) 76-67. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Komarno to consolidate first place in the Slovakian Extraliga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Komarno has a very solid 15-4 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Thompson turned to be Komarno's top player in his first season with the team. Former Morgan State University star has very solid stats this year. Thompson. Thompson is in league's top in points (3rd best: 16.9ppg) and averages impressive 1.2bpg and 63.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old international power forward Roman Vido (204-PF-88) of Handlova. Vido had a very good evening with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Handlova cruised to a 96-84 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Svit (#9, 4-17). Handlova's 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-12 record. Vido is a newcomer at Handlova, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Handlova's star - American guard Kevin Bridgewaters (175-G-84, agency: TSS Management). Bridgewaters scored 22 points and passed nine assists. He was another key player of Handlova, helping his team with a 96-84 win against slightly lower-ranked Svit (#9, 4-17). The chances of Handlova not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 12 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Bridgewaters could try to bring Handlova's a little bit higher in the standings. Bridgewaters has a very solid season. In 4 games in Slovakia he scored 29.3ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Brandon Fields (193-G-88) of Levice - 21 points and 7 rebounds
5. Corye Payton (193-G) of Handlova - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Barkley Falkner (203-F/C-86) of Prievidza - 16 points and 10 rebounds
7. Tyronne McNeal (211-C-87) of Svit - 21 points and 7 rebounds
8. J.R. Cadot (195-G-87) of Nitra - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Stanislav Baldovsky (192-F-89) of Nova Ves - 16 points and 2 rebounds
10. Martin Rancik (204-F/C-78) of Inter Bratislava - 22 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Blagojevic's 30-point game gives him Player of the Week award - 2 days ago
25-year old swingman Milic Blagojevic (200-G/F-91) had a great game in the last round for Lucenec and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 34. He had the game-high 30 points adding nine rebounds for Lucenec in his team's victory, helping them to beat Nova Ves (#10, 6-25) 77-72. Lucenec maintains the 8th position in Slovakian league.
