Maurice
Acker
American point guard Maurice Acker (178-PG-87) had a very impressive game in the last round for Nova Ves, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 25.
The 25-year old player got a double-double of 31 points and 11 assists, while his team beat Inter Bratislava (#7, 10-13) in overtime 92-87. Nova Ves maintains the 4th position in Slovakian Extraliga. Nova Ves is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 12-11 record. In the team's last game Acker had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He turned to be Nova Ves' top player in his first season with the team. Former Marquette University star has very solid stats this year. Acker. Acker is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.3ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old American Kevin Thompson (205-F-89) of league's leader Komarno. Thompson had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 19 rebounds. Of course Komarno cruised to a 91-82 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Handlova (#8, 6-15). Of course Komarno still keep the league's top spot. His team has currently 17-5 record. Thompson is a newcomer at Komarno, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.4ppg (#6). He also registered 11.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Zack Crimmins (213-C-89) of Handlova (#8). Crimmins scored 26 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Crimmins' great performance Handlova lost 82-91 to the higher-ranked Komarno (#1, 17-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Handlova can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 6-15 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Crimmins he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Crimmins has a very solid season. In 18 games in Slovakia he scored 15.1ppg. He also has 5.8rpg and FGP: 50.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ravone George (193-G-83) of Svit - 24 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Deremy Geiger (180-PG-90) of Nitra - 24 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Martin Rancik (204-F/C-78) of Inter Bratislava - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Willie Kemp (188-G-87) of Levice - 20 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Sven Smajlagic (193-G-90) of B.Bystrica - 20 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Jeremy Simmons (204-F-89) of Levice - 14 points and 5 rebounds
10. Brandon Fields (193-G-88) of Levice - 19 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
