Sparks
Patrick Sparks (184-G-83, college: Kentucky) from Greenville, Kentucky is the most fresh addition to roster of currently third-ranked Slovakian team BK Edymax SPU Nitra. The team was in need of playmaker who could pull-out some extras from his teammates play. Since others were not good enough to create and manage the play on the court, management of the club decided to look at their possibilities.
Patrick Sparks has just left the Ukrainian team Kirovograd. "It was better for me to come to Slovakia and play for Nitra because I was only practicing with the team since December. The last game I played was back in November for Hoverla Ivano-Frankivsk," stated newcomer for Slovak daily news SME.
As Patrick said, he only participated in matches in Hoverla, scoring 7,7 points, throwing 3,6 assists and rebounding 3,5 balls in 13 games. He also experienced other European national competitions. Since the 29 years old point guard has left University of Kentucky, he played in Germany and Greece.
Patrick Sparks will fit into team roster counting already two American imports two Slovenian and one player from Bahamas. His play IQ will experience Slovak competition this weekend on Final Eight of Slovak Cup which will take place in Levice.

Prievidza maintains the 3rd position in Slovakian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Prievidza will need more...   [read more]
SBL Round 25: Inter Bratislava beats Iskra Svit by two after a very close game - 2 days ago

Anton Gavel selected the top Slovakian playing abroad in last week's games - 3 days ago
We bring you last week's top performances from Slovakians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. Kyle Kuric (193-G/F-89) could not help one of league's weakest teams Gran Canaria (0-2) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Gran Canaria lost 75-85 on the road to the higher-ranked (#3) Baloncesto Fuenlabrada.    [read more]
