Add one tough opponent to the grip of Slovak Extraliga! Since December had six-ranked BK Inter Bratislava signed some new players and is still looking for a strengthening their roster. Now they look like a champion but only future will reveal what this team really is capable of. Adding names is sometimes just not enough. Yet they have no licensed coach, but trio of "volunteers" (General manager Michal Ondrus, retired naturalized Slovakian legend Andrej Lukjanec, and their assistant Marek Adamcik ) will look after A team until the end of season. But only if association will grant an exception for this fellowship. To show those who will dress up the jersey of BK Inter Bratislava in days to come, here are the news: After younger of Rancik brothers left the team to join Czech master of CEZ Basketball Nymburk, Inter signed older one. Martin Rancik (204-F/C-78, college: Iowa St.) was in Bratislava to help the team with an open minded contract, still looking for bigger challenge. After he received a fair offer made by Inter, he made up his mind to stay until end of season. "I was thinking about what to do. There were some opportunities to go abroad but Inter surprised me by very kind offer. I am home here in Bratislava, I have my family here, my son started to attend local school so I would not hurt anybody by staying in Inter for the rest of the season and help them to achieve their goals," stated for SITA press agency this 34 years old player who was until now a clear leader with 26,3 points and 7,6 rebounds per game. Another big news, brought on press conference earlier on Thursday, is comeback of Nenad Delic (210-F/C-84), a well-known Croatian center who was strong under Slovak baskets in 2010/2011 season as player of MBK Banik Handlova. After that he played for Turkish team Pi Koleji Ankara. He averaged 14,6 points and 7,4 rebounds in 15 games this year. Another player is on a good way to join BK Inter Bratislava. As manager Daniel Jakabovic said this winger who would be a great surprise for all the fans.
