Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Slovakians who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced former international power forward Radoslav Rancik (207-79, agency: Beo Basket, college: St.Cloud St., currently plays in VTB United League), who plays in Czech Republic. He could not help CEZ Nymburk (4-9) in their last game. Despite Rancik's very good performance the eighth-placed CEZ Nymburk lost 86-96 on the road to the lower-ranked (#9) Neptunas in the group B of VTB United League. He had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 12 rebounds. Rancik also added 3 blocks in 35 minutes on the court. It was CEZ Nymburk's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Rancik has relatively good stats this year: 13.4ppg, 4.4rpg, 2FGP: 49.2%, 3FGP: 36.0% and FT: 83.3% in the 10 games he played so far. Former BK Inter Bratislava starter played for the Slovakian senior national team three years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Anton Gavel (188-84, agency: Pro One Sports, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Germany. He was not able to help the league outsider Brose Baskets Bamberg (0-6) in their last game on Friday. Despite Gavel's good performance Brose Baskets Bamberg (#8) was edged 76-73 in Athens by the higher-ranked Panathinaikos (#4) in the group E of Euroleague. He scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. It's Gavel's fourth season with the team. This year Gavel has relatively solid stats: 12.3ppg, 2.2rpg, 2.7apg, 2FGP: 52.2%, 3FGP: 41.2% and FT: 81.6%. He has a dual citizenship: Slovakian and German. Gavel is in the roster of the Slovakian senior national team.

Dusan Pandula
Dusan Pandula
   #3. The Slovakian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international small forward Dusan Pandula (196-84, currently plays in Czech Republic). He led BK Prostejov to a victory over the eighth-ranked USK Praha (10-14) 94-76 in the Czech Republic NBL on Saturday night. Pandula was MVP of the game. He recorded 20 points and had 3 steals in 28 minutes. BK Prostejov (15-9) is placed fourth in the NBL. The Regular Season already ended. Pandula has reliable stats this year: 12.1ppg, 4.4rpg, 2.5apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 61.0%(72-118), 3FGP: 43.7% and FT: 76.1% in the 24 games. He is also a member of the Slovakian senior national team.

Roman Marko

   #4. Shooting guard Roman Marko (194-86, currently plays in Czech Republic) is a teammate of previously mentioned Dusan Pandula and both played together in the last Czech Republic NBL game. Marko was the major contributor in a BK Prostejov's victory against the eighth-ranked USK Praha (10-14) 94-76. He recorded 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. This season Marko averages: 8.8ppg, 3.8rpg, 2.4apg and 1.3spg. He is another player who holds two passports: Slovakian and Czech Republic. Marko is also Slovakian national team player.

   #5. International forward Pavol Losonsky (203-88, college: Cal-Irvine, currently plays in United Kingdom) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Liverpool Mersey Tigers (0-21) crushing them 84-54 in the British BBL last Saturday. He recorded 7 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 24 minutes. Jelson Homes DMU Leicester City Riders (16-2) is placed first in the BBL. It's Losonsky's first season with the team. Losonsky's stats this year are: 14.8ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.8apg in the 17 games. He plays currently for the Slovakian national team.

Center Boris Bojanovsky (221-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to a 2-point Florida St.'s victory against the University of Maryland (4-5) 73-71 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. Bojanovsky scored 8 points. The Florida State University has 4-4 conference record this season. Bojanovsky averaged so far 14.8ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.8apg. He is U20 international player who is currently on the Slovakian National Team roster.

   #7. Former international power forward Justin Sedlak (205-87, college: Florida Tech, currently plays in Sweden) managed to help Solna Vikings to win against the ninth-ranked KFUM Jamtland (6-17) 82-79 in the Swedish Basketligan last Thursday. Sedlak recorded 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Solna Vikings (16-9) is placed fifth in the Basketligan. Sedlak's stats this season are: 13.1ppg and 5.3rpg. He used to play for the Slovakian national team three years ago.

   #8. Center Martin Miklosik (225-86, currently plays in Czech Republic) was not able to secure a victory for B&W Opava (6-18) in their game against NH Ostrava (17-7) in the Czech Republic NBL. He scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 15 minutes. But B&W Opava lost 68-72 in Ostrava to the second-ranked NH Ostrava. It was B&W Opava's ninth consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Miklosik is currently fourth on the list of best blockers with 1.1bpg. This year his other stats are: 6.0ppg and 5.4rpg in the 24 games. Worth to mention Miklosik played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Miklosik used to play for the Slovakian national team back in 2010.

   #9. International swingman Martin Sykora (192-81, currently plays in Czech Republic) couldn't help Basketbal Svitavy (8-16) in their game against BC Kolin (14-10) in the Czech Republic NBL. He recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Basketbal Svitavy was defeated 85-80 in Kolin by the higher-ranked BC Kolin (#6). The Regular Season already ended. Sykora's overall stats this season are: 4.0ppg and 3.3rpg. He is also in the roster of the Slovakian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Slovakian passport but never been selected to any of Slovakian national teams:

   #1. Lukas Varga (183-G-85, college: Coker, currently plays in Denmark), who plays in the Danish Ligaen could not help the league outsider one of league's weakest teams Horsens IC (17-6) to beat Bakken (17-5). Varga recorded 7 points and added 3 assists in 18 minutes. Horsens IC was badly defeated 98-79 on the road by the second-ranked Bakken. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Varga's overall stats are: 5.0ppg, 1.4rpg, 1.7apg and 1.2spg in the 23 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: German and Slovakian.

   #2. Branislav Brlit (207-C-85, agency: Promotex, currently plays in Czech Republic) was not able to help B&W Opava (6-18) in their game against NH Ostrava (17-7) in the Czech Republic NBL. Brlit cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points in 22 minutes. B&W Opava lost 68-72 in Ostrava to the second-ranked NH Ostrava. It was B&W Opava's ninth consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended. This year Brlit's overall stats are: 1.0ppg and 1.5rpg in the four games.

Serbian Aleksa Solevic (188-G-93, agency: Dynamics Global Management) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Nova Ves and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 43. The 23-year old guard had the game-high 17 points adding six rebounds and six assists for Nova Ves in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Nitra (#11, 3-35) with 33-point margin 108-75. There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in SBL. The biggest surprise of round 43 was guest Lucenec's (#7) road victory over Handlova (#8) 65-61 on Saturday evening. They outrebounded Handlova 47-31 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian Strahinja Stojacic (197-92) fired 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners.
