An interesting game for Komarno (19-5) which played road game in Nova Ves against 4th ranked Nova Ves (13-12). First ranked Komarno managed to get a 9-point victory 84-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Nova Ves. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-18. But Nova Ves won second period 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Nova Ves 42-29 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Chris Lowe (182-87, college: Massachusetts, agency: KMG Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Vincent Simpson (185-88, college: Hampton, agency: R.H.Consultancy) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Power forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette) replied with 23 points and 9 rebounds for Nova Ves. Nova Ves' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Komarno have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 19-5 record. Nova Ves at the other side keep the fourth place with 12 games lost. Komarno are looking forward to face league's second-placed Levice at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nova Ves will play against Prievidza and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Svit managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they edged fifth-ranked Prievidza 79-76. American players dominated also this game. Worth to mention a great performance of center Tyronne McNeal (211-87, college: Miami Dade CC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and Sean Smith who added 22 points during the contest. At the losing side forward Joseph Harris (196-87, college: Co.Carolina) responded with 27 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Svit (7-19) moved-up to eighth place. Defending champion Prievidza dropped to the sixth position with 13 games lost. Svit will play against higher ranked Inter Bratislava (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Prievidza will play against Nova Ves and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Banska Bystrica was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Inter Bratislava (12-14) played at the court of 7th ranked SKP Banska Bystrica (10-15). Inter Bratislava managed to secure a 6-point victory 101-95 on Wednesday. The winners were led by Martin Rancik who scored that evening 29 points and 7 rebounds. Even 17 points by Enique Clemons did not help to save the game for SKP Banska Bystrica. SKP Banska Bystrica's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Inter Bratislava moved-up to fifth place. SKP Banska Bystrica lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 15 games lost. Inter Bratislava will meet at home Svit (#8) in the next round. SKP Banska Bystrica will play against Handlova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between third ranked Nitra (16-10) and 8th ranked Handlova (6-18) in Nitra ended with biggest points difference. Nitra beat guests from Handlova 98-85. Branislav Tomek fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Nitra maintains third position with 16-10 record having just one points less than leader Komarno. Handlova lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with 18 games lost. Nitra will have a break next round. Handlova will play at home against SKP Banska Bystrica (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 28 Inter Bratislava was beaten by Levice on the road 91-82.



Nova Ves - Komarno 75-84

The game was mostly controlled by Nitra. Handlova was better in fourth quarter 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Handlova 45-26 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. B.Bystrica - Inter Bratislava 95-101

The game in Banska Bystrica was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Inter Bratislava (12-14) played at the court of 7th ranked SKP Banska Bystrica (10-15). Inter Bratislava managed to secure a 6-point victory 101-95 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 50-43 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Inter Bratislava made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. The winners were led by the former international power forward Martin Rancik (204-78, college: Iowa St.) who scored that evening 29 points and 7 rebounds and Montenegrin guard Goran Bulatovic (184-88) supported him with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Even 17 points by American point guard Enique Clemons (180-80, college: Missouri) did not help to save the game for SKP Banska Bystrica. It looked good early as Prievidza took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Svit had a 26-21 second period charge getting the lead and Prievidza was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-79. Svit shot 66.7 percent from the field. Svit had a 23-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. American players dominated also this game. Worth to mention a great performance of center Tyronne McNeal (211-87, college: Miami Dade CC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Sean Smith (201-85, college: N.Illinois) who added 22 points during the contest. McNeal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Svit players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Joseph Harris (196-87, college: Co.Carolina) responded with 27 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and point guard Dijuan Harris (175-86, college: Charlotte) scored 12 points and 6 assists. No shocking result in a game when second ranked Levice (18-6) beat at home 6th ranked Inter Bratislava (12-14) 91-82. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 25-22 Inter Bratislava's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 91-82 at the end of the game. Levice made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. 26 personal fouls committed by Inter Bratislava helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Slovenian center Salih Nuhanovic (208-82) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. American point guard Willie Kemp (188-87, college: Memphis) chipped in 25 points. Serbian point guard Nenad Milosevic (190-83) produced 16 points and Croatian power forward Nenad Delic (210-84) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Levice have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-6 record behind leader Komarno. Inter Bratislava at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 14 games lost. Levice's next round opponent will be league's leader Komarno on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Inter Bratislava will play against Svit (#8).

What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. SBL top team - Inter Bratislava (11-3) managed to deliver another win on Wednesday. This time they beat fifth ranked Iskra Svit (7-7) 83-71. Inter Bratislava forced 20 Iskra Svit turnovers. Batka's double-double lands him Player of the Week award - 6 days ago

29-year old center Michal Batka (204-C-87) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Kosice and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 13. He had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Karlovka (#9, 4-8) 93-81. Kosice maintains the 2nd position in Slovakian league.
