Zack
Crimmins
American center Zack Crimmins (213-C-89) had a great game in the last round for Handlova, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 34.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds, while his team Handlova maintains the 9th position in Slovakian Extraliga. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 23 games and recorded just seven victories. Crimmins turned to be Handlova's top player in his first season with the team. Zack Crimmins averages this season 15.8ppg and 6.0rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old American Dijuan Harris (175-PG-86) of Prievidza. Harris had a very good evening with a double-double of 14 points and 12 assists. Of course he lead Prievidza to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked Nova Ves (#5, 15-15) 95-75. Prievidza's 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 13-17 record. Harris is one of the most experienced players at Prievidza and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 9.8ppg (#4). He also recorded 4.4 assists per game. Former University of North Carolina - Charlotte star Harris is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Timothy Frost (208-C-80) of Nova Ves (#5). Frost scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. Despite Frost's great performance Nova Ves lost 75-95 to slightly lower-ranked Prievidza (#7, 13-17). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Nova Ves needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 15 victories and 15 lost games. Frost has a very solid season. In 3 games in Slovakia he scored 11.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mirza Ahmetbasic (193-G-87) of B.Bystrica - 12 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Michal Batka (204-PF-87) of Prievidza - 21 points and 7 rebounds
6. Sven Smajlagic (193-G-90) of B.Bystrica - 23 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Brandon Fields (193-G-88) of Levice - 23 points and 6 rebounds
8. Willie Kemp (188-PG-87) of Levice - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Maurice Acker (178-PG-87) of Nova Ves - 26 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Willie Powers (187-G-89) of Prievidza - 20 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

SBL Round 25: Inter Bratislava beats Iskra Svit by two after a very close game - 13 minutes ago
Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Fifth-ranked Iskra Svit (12-11) was very close to win a game against second ranked Inter Bratislava (18-5) on Saturday. Inter Bratislava managed to secure only two-point victory 89-87. However their fans expected easier game. Inter Bratislava shot 66.0 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian Aleksandar Radukic (207-91, ag...   [read more]

We bring you last week's top performances from Slovakians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. Kyle Kuric (193-G/F-89) could not help one of league's weakest teams Gran Canaria (0-2) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Gran Canaria lost 75-85 on the road to the higher-ranked (#3) Baloncesto Fuenlabrada.    [read more]

Newly promoted MBK Handlova (SBL) inked experienced 38-year old Serbian power forward Slobodan Bozovic (207-79). He started the season at Smederevo 1953 in Serbian KLS league. In 10 games he averaged 7.8ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.0spg this season. The most of last season Bozovic spent at Iskra Svit where in 18 SBL games he had 9.2ppg, 5.4rpg, 2.1apg and 1.2spg.
