Fifth-ranked Rieker KN (12-12) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Kosice (22-4) in Komarno on Wednesday. The visitors from Kosice managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian guard Stefan Matovic (203-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. The former international center Michal Batka (204-87) contributed with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American forward Wayne Langston (201-93, college: Murray St.) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds for Rieker KN. Kosice have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-4 record. Rieker KN at the other side dropped to the sixth place with 12 games lost. Kosice are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Nitra (#11) in Nitra in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rieker KN will play on the road against Handlova (#5) in MBK Handlova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between 11th ranked Nitra (2-23) and second ranked Inter Bratislava (20-6) in Nitra ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Bratislava outscored Nitra 91-65. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international swingman Martin Bilik (194-87) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and Aleksandar Vlahovic who added 14 points and 5 assists during the contest. Inter Bratislava's coach Oliver Vidin felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Croatian forward Eddi Jurjevic (202-93) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Inter Bratislava maintains second position with 20-6 record having just two points less than leader Kosice. Nitra lost ninth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Inter Bratislava's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Bratislava .

Other games in round 28 were not that significant. Lucenec was beaten by Levice on the road 91-77. Nova Ves lost to Handlova on its own court 78-87. Iskra Svit unfortunately lost to Karlovka in Bratislava 84-91.
The most impressive performance of 28th round was 14 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals by Aaron Rountree III of Lucenec.

Levice - Lucenec 91-77

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Levice (18-7) beat at home 8th ranked Lucenec (10-14) 91-77. Levice forced 20 Lucenec turnovers. Lucenec was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Josh Nofflet (194-88, college: Lee) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Simon Krajcovic (191-94, college: Loyola Mary) who added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward Aaron Rountree III (203-93, college: Iona) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals and Serbian swingman Milic Blagojevic (200-91) scored 16 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Levice have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Lucenec keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Levice will play against Karlovka (#9) in Bratislava in the next round where they are favorite. Lucenec will play on the road against Prievidza and hopes to get back on the winning track.

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Karlovka (8-17) won against 7th ranked Iskra Svit (12-14) in Bratislava 91-84. Karlovka made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Iskra Svit turnovers. Iskra Svit was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Michal Kozar (191-90) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 4 assists (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and center Ivan Zidzik (208-90, college: NW Nazarene) who added 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Israeli center Anton Shoutvin (206-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and Puerto Rican point guard Javier Gonzalez (185-89, college: N.Carolina St.) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Five Karlovka and four Iskra Svit players scored in double figures. Karlovka maintains ninth position with 8-17 record. Iskra Svit lost fourth consecutive game.
