SBL top team - Kosice (26-5) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Karlovka (9-23) 99-73. Kosice made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Karlovka turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Ladarius White (198-92, college: Mississippi) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. Serbian point guard Niksa Nikolic (195-91) helped adding 13 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Kosice's coach Drazen Brajkovic felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Michal Kozar (191-90) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Kosice have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 26-5 record. Karlovka lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 23 games lost. Kosice are looking forward to face Handlova (#7) in MBK Handlova in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Karlovka will have a break next round.
The game in Lucenec was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Rieker KN (18-13) played at the court of 8th ranked Lucenec (14-17). Rieker KN defeated Lucenec 85-69. It was an exceptional evening for Slovenian guard Boban Tomic (190-88) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Sinisa Bilic accounted for 18 points and 4 assists. Serbian Strahinja Stojacic (197-92) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds for Lucenec in the defeat. Rieker KN have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 18-13 record. Newly promoted Lucenec keeps the eighth position with 17 games lost. Rieker KN will play against higher ranked Levice (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lucenec will play against Nitra (#11) in Nitra and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Fourth ranked Levice (21-11) crushed at home 10th ranked Nova Ves (6-26) by 49 points 114-65, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. The best player for the winners was Jaroslav Musil who scored 20 points (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). Matt Marshall produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Levice maintains fourth place with 21-11 record. Nova Ves at the other side keep the tenth position with 26 games lost. Levice will meet Rieker KN (#5) in the next round. Nova Ves will play against Prievidza (#3) and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 35 Handlova was destroyed by Inter Bratislava on the opponent's court 88-66. Prievidza managed to outperform Iskra Svit in a home game 93-78.

Inter Bratislava - Handlova 88-66

Very expected game when 7th ranked Handlova (15-17) was crushed on the road by second ranked Inter Bratislava (24-8) 88-66 on Saturday. Inter Bratislava dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Handlova's 22. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Aleksandar Vlahovic (190-90, agency: 011 Sports) who scored 16 points and 6 assists. The former international power forward Radoslav Rancik (205-79, college: St.Cloud St., agency: BeoBasket) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Peter Sedmak (207-85, agency: 011 Sports) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Nenad Milosevic (190-83, agency: 011 Sports) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Inter Bratislava maintains second place with 24-8 record having just one point less than leader Kosice. Newly promoted Handlova keeps the seventh position with 17 games lost. Inter Bratislava will meet Iskra Svit (#6) on the road in the next round. Handlova will play against the league's leader Kosice and hope to secure a win.

Serbian Strahinja Stojacic (197-92) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian swingman Milic Blagojevic (200-91) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Lucenec in the defeat. Fourth ranked Levice (21-11) crushed at home 10th ranked Nova Ves (6-26) by 49 points 114-65, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. Levice dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Nova Ves' 30. Levice forced 27 Nova Ves turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Levice looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Nova Ves' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Levice made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was guard Jaroslav Musil (192-89) who scored 20 points (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). They outrebounded Iskra Svit 44-24 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Prievidza looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Croatian forward Igor Maric (196-85) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Andre Jones (191-90, college: Winthrop) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Evan Singletary (185-94, college: Albany) produced 24 points and Serbian point guard Sasa Avramovic (193-93, agency: BeoBasket) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains third place with 21-10 record having five points less than leader Kosice. Loser Iskra Svit keeps the sixth position with 16 games lost. Prievidza will meet Nova Ves (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. 27-year old power forward Svetozar Stamenkovic (206-F/C-90) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Kosice and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 4. He had a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds, while his team outclassed Nova Ves (#5, 2-2) with 39-point margin 113-74. Kosice maintains the 2nd position in Slovakian league.
