The Regular Season in SBL is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 8 rounds.

Seventh-ranked Handlova (15-18) made lots of trouble for first ranked Kosice (27-5) in MBK Handlova on Wednesday. The visitors from Kosice managed to secure only two-point victory 90-88. However their fans expected much easier game. 26 personal fouls committed by Handlova helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Ladarius White (198-92, college: Mississippi) who scored 31 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Serbian power forward Nikola Siladji (208-92) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian guard Pedja Stamenkovic (190-88, agency: 011 Sports) who recorded 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Handlova's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kosice have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 27-5 record. Newly promoted Handlova dropped to the eighth place with 18 games lost. Kosice are looking forward to face Iskra Svit (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Handlova will play against Karlovka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Inter Bratislava (24-9) against sixth ranked Iskra Svit (17-16) on Wednesday night. Visiting Inter Bratislava was defeated by Iskra Svit in a tough game in Svit 72-80. It was a good game for Serbian point guard Sasa Avramovic (193-93, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Pavol Losonsky contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Radoslav Rancik (205-79, college: St.Cloud St., agency: BeoBasket) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds for Inter Bratislava. Iskra Svit maintains sixth position with 17-16 record. Inter Bratislava at the other side keeps the second place with nine games lost. Iskra Svit will play against league's leader Kosice on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Inter Bratislava will play against Nova Ves and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Komarno was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Levice (21-12) played at the court of fifth ranked Rieker KN (19-13). Rieker KN did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 91-72 on Thursday. Rieker KN have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 19-13 record. Loser Levice keeps the fourth place with 12 games lost. Rieker KN will meet higher ranked Prievidza (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Levice will play against Nitra and hope to secure a win.

The winners were led by Jervon Pressley who scored that evening 27 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field).
