The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Kosice (28-6) on the court of tenth ranked Nova Ves on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Nova Ves 88-77. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Kosice. American-Jamaican Phil Henry (203-91, college: E.New Mexico, agency: Global Sports Plaza) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. International forward Viktor Juricek (211-93, college: Texas A&M-CC) contributed with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Serbian guard Stefan Matovic (203-91, agency: BeoExcell) replied with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Kosice. Nova Ves maintains tenth position with 7-28 record. Kosice at the other side still keeps top place with six games lost. Nova Ves are looking forward to face higher ranked Handlova (#8) in MBK Handlova in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kosice will play at home against Rieker KN (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Prievidza (24-11) against seventh ranked Lucenec (17-17) on Monday night. Host Prievidza was defeated by Lucenec in a tough game in Prievidza 86-93. Serbian Strahinja Stojacic (197-92) had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Jervon Pressley chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American guard Andre Jones (191-90, college: Winthrop) responded with 29 points. Lucenec have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Lucenec maintains seventh position with 17-17 record. Defending champion Prievidza keeps the third place with 11 games lost. Lucenec will play against higher ranked Levice (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Prievidza will have a break next round.
The game in Komarno was also quite interesting. Second ranked Inter Bratislava (26-9) played at the court of 5th ranked Rieker KN (19-15). Inter Bratislava managed to secure a 7-point victory 85-78 on Wednesday. William Walker notched 25 points to lead the effort. Even 18 points and 9 rebounds by Wayne Langston did not help to save the game for Rieker KN. Inter Bratislava maintains second position with 26-9 record having just one point less than leader Kosice. Loser Rieker KN keeps the fifth place with 15 games lost. Inter Bratislava will meet at home bottom-ranked Nitra (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rieker KN will play against the league's leader Kosice (#1) and hope to secure a win.
The game between sixth ranked Iskra Svit (18-17) and 8th ranked Handlova (16-19) in Svit ended with biggest points difference. Iskra Svit outscored guests from MBK Handlova 108-68. The best player for the winners was Evan Singletary who scored 18 points and 8 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Iskra Svit maintains sixth position with 18-17 record. Newly promoted Handlova keeps the eighth place with 19 games lost. Iskra Svit's next round opponent will be Karlovka (#9) in Bratislava. Handlova will play at home against Nova Ves and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 38 Karlovka was smashed by Lucenec on the road 78-46. Bottom-ranked Nitra lost to defending champion Prievidza on its own court 65-87.

Lucenec - Karlovka 78-46

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Lucenec (17-17) crushed at home 9th ranked Karlovka (9-25) 78-46. Lucenec forced 22 Karlovka turnovers and outrebounded them 45-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Lucenec brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was Serbian swingman Milic Blagojevic (200-91) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Aaron Rountree-III (203-93, college: Iona) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 7 rebounds, 13 assists and 7 steals. Five Lucenec players scored in double figures. Forward Michal Kozar (191-90) produced 11 points and forward Filip Lehman (197-87) added 4 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lucenec have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Lucenec maintains seventh position with 17-17 record. Karlovka lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 25 games lost. Lucenec's next round opponent will be higher ranked Levice (#4) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Karlovka will play against Iskra Svit (#6) and hope to win that game.

The game in Komarno was also quite interesting. Second ranked Inter Bratislava (26-9) played at the court of 5th ranked Rieker KN (19-15). Inter Bratislava managed to secure a 7-point victory 85-78 on Wednesday. Strangely Rieker KN outrebounded Inter Bratislava 39-26 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward William Walker (197-87, college: Bethel, IN) notched 25 points to lead the effort and the former international Tomas Mrvis (200-91, agency: 011 Sports) supported him with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Walker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 18 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Wayne Langston (201-93, college: Murray St.) did not help to save the game for Rieker KN. Slovenian guard Boban Tomic (190-88) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the hosts. Four Inter Bratislava and five Rieker KN players scored in double figures. Very expected game when 11th ranked Nitra (3-30) was smashed at home by third ranked Prievidza (24-11) 87-65. The best player for the winners was American-Iranian forward Mike Rostampour (203-91, college: Omaha) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. The former international Richard Korner (197-90) chipped in 19 points. Prievidza's coach Miljan Curovic felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Croatian forward Eddi Jurjevic (202-93) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and guard Robert Rozanek (190-96) added 13 points and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Defending champion maintains third position with 24-11 record having three points less than leader Kosice. Nitra lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 30 lost games. Prievidza will have a break next round. Nitra will play on the road against the league's second-placed Inter Bratislava (#2) and hope to win that game.
