   #1. This week's number one is an experienced former international point guard Anton Gavel (189-84, currently plays in EuroCup). He could not help Bayern Muenchen (6-0) in their last game. Despite Gavel's good performance the league leader Bayern Muenchen lost 69-74 on the road to the second-ranked Unicaja Malaga. He scored 10 points and added 4 assists in 26 minutes on the court. This year Gavel averages: 5.8ppg, 2.5rpg, 2.6apg, 2FGP: 41.3%, 3FGP: 28.9% and FT: 68.3% in 17 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Slovakian and German. Gavel played for the Slovakian senior national team five years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former U20 international forward Vladimir Brodziansky (211-94, currently plays college basketball in the States). He led TCU to an easy victory against the The University of Oklahoma (13-5) 82-63 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. Brodziansky scored 20 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and made 3 blocks in 27 minutes. The Texas Christian University has 8-6 conference record this season. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Brodziansky has relatively good stats this year: 13.3ppg, 5.5rpg, 2.2bpg, 2FGP: 59.1%(153-259), 3FGP: 35.7% and FT: 77.6% in 33 games. He played for the Slovakian U20 national team in 2013.

   #3. The Slovakian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international shooting guard Roman Marko (194-86, currently plays in Czech Republic). Marko led Basketbal Svitavy to a victory against the third-ranked NH Ostrava (10-17) 84-72 in the Czech Republic NBL in Saturday night's game. He recorded 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 7-12. Turi Svitavy (11-16) is placed first. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Marko's overall stats this season are: 8.3ppg, 3.5rpg, 7.8apg, 1.8spg, 2FGP: 54.5% and FT: 75.0%. He is another player who holds two passports: Slovakian and Czech Republic. Marko played for the Slovakian national team four years ago.

   #4. Power forward Milan Szabo (204-98, currently plays in Czech Republic) contributed to a BK Prostejov B's victory against the seventh-ranked Vysocina (5-16) 81-75 in the Czech Republic 1Liga (second division) last Sunday. He had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 11 rebounds. Szabo also added 3 blocks and 3 steals in 34 minutes. BK Prostejov "B" (10-10) is placed first in Places 13-20 group. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Szabo's first season with the team. This year he has relatively solid stats: 12.8ppg, 5.1rpg, 1.2bpg and 1.5spg in 13 games. Szabo is also Slovakian U18 national team player.

   #5. International center Michael Fusek (221-95, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Belgium) was not able to help Spirou Charleroi in their game against Antwerp Giants (16-7) in the Belgian Euromillions League. He did not beat the league record on Friday evening. Fusek scored only 2 points. Spirou Charleroi was defeated 83-76 in Antwerp by the second-ranked Giants. It was Spirou Charleroi's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Fusek's overall stats this season are: 3.2ppg and 2.6rpg. He plays currently for the Slovakian national team.

   #6. Power forward Matej Drgon (207-98, currently plays in Czech Republic) was not able to secure a victory for GBA Sparta (5-15) in their last game. Despite Drgon's very good performance the sixth-placed GBA Sparta (5-15) lost 63-77 on the opponent's court to the higher-ranked (#4) Ostrava in the Places 13-20 group. He was the top scorer with 21 points. Drgon also added 9 rebounds in 27 minutes. It was GBA Sparta's eighth consecutive loss in a row. Drgon has reliable stats this year: 11.4ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.1apg in eight games. He is U18 international player who is currently on the Slovakian National Team roster.

Former U20 international forward Norbert Janicek (211-96, currently studies in the States) helped Utah St. win their game against the San Jose State University (7-11) crushing them 90-64 in the NCAA last Wednesday. Janicek scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The Utah State University has 6-9 conference record this season. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Janicek's overall stats this year are: 6.7ppg and 3.6rpg. He used to play for the Slovakian U20 national team two years ago.

   #8. Forward Jakub Petras (211-94, is currently at the American university) couldn't help the Stony Brook (11-3) in their game against the University at Albany (12-4) in the NCAA. Petras scored 5 points in 16 minutes. The Stony Brook lost 56-63 in Albany to the University at. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. This year Petras' overall stats are: 3.5ppg and 3.2rpg in 31 games. He used to play for the Slovakian national team back in 2013.

U18 international center Maros Zeliznak (205-99, currently plays in Czech Republic) is a teammate of previously mentioned Matej Drgon and both played together in the last Czech Republic 1Liga game. Zeliznak couldn't help GBA Sparta (5-15) in their game against Ostrava (8-12). He scored 6 points and added 3 passes in 22 minutes. GBA Sparta (#6) lost 63-77 on the opponent's court to the higher-ranked (#4) Ostrava in the Places 13-20 group. This year Zeliznak's total stats are: 3.4ppg and 3.4rpg in 18 games. He is also in the roster of the Slovakian U18 national team.

Guard Oliver Tot (198-94, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the William & Mary (10-8) in their game against the University of N.Carolina-Wilmington (15-3) in the NCAA. Tot cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only one point. The William & Mary was defeated 105-94 at home by the University of N.Carolina-. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Tot has averaged so far 1.1ppg, 1.2rpg and 1.2apg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Slovakian National Team roster.

   #11. U18 international small forward Jakub Kadasi (197-99, currently plays in Germany) managed to help Science City Jena 2nd team in a victory against the 14th-ranked Bayreuth 2 crushing them 67-46 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. Kadasi scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 13 minutes. Kadasi has averaged so far 5.7ppg, 1.6rpg and 1.1spg in 11 games. He plays currently for the Slovakian U18 national team.


The list of other players, who all have Slovakian passport but never been selected to any of Slovakian national teams:

   #1. Kyle Kuric (193-G/F-89, college: Louisville, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Blusens Monbus (6-16) crushing them 91-57 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. He scored 7 points. Herbalife Gran Canaria (14-8) is placed seventh in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Kuric has relatively good stats this season: 12.0ppg and 2.3rpg. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Kuric has never played in Slovakia.

   #2. Experienced Stefan Svitek (203-C/F-77, currently plays in Luxembourg) managed to help Basket Esch to win against the leader Racing (20-2) 72-57 in the Luxembourg Total League in Saturday night's game. Svitek scored 5 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Playdowns 1. Basket Esch (11-11) is placed first. Svitek is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his seventh year in Basket Esch's roster. His total stats this season are: 7.4ppg and 6.4rpg.

Serbian Aleksa Solevic (188-G-93, agency: Dynamics Global Management) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Nova Ves and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 43. The 23-year old guard had the game-high 17 points adding six rebounds and six assists for Nova Ves in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Nitra (#11, 3-35) with 33-point margin 108-75. There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in SBL. The biggest surprise of round 43 was guest Lucenec's (#7) road victory over Handlova (#8) 65-61 on Saturday evening. They outrebounded Handlova 47-31 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian Strahinja Stojacic (197-92) fired 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners.
