The Regular Season in SBL is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 4 rounds.

Leader Kosice delivered the thirtieth win on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 11th ranked Nitra (3-32) 107-69. Kosice dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Nitra's 42 and made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. Kosice forced 24 Nitra turnovers and outrebounded them 39-20 including a 23-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Nitra helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian guard Stefan Matovic (203-91, agency: BeoExcell) fired 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Croatian forward Eddi Jurjevic (202-93) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kosice maintains first position with 30-6 record. Nitra lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 32 lost games. Kosice will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nitra will play on the road against Handlova (#8) in MBK Handlova and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
The game in Lucenec supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Prievidza (25-11) played at the court of 7th ranked Lucenec (17-19). Prievidza smashed Lucenec 100-70. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Andre Jones (191-90, college: Winthrop) who helped to win the game recording 24 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Omar Krayem contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Prievidza's coach Miljan Curovic felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian Strahinja Stojacic (197-92) replied with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for Lucenec. Defending champion maintains third position with 25-11 record having five points less than leader Kosice. Newly promoted Lucenec keeps the seventh place with 19 games lost. Prievidza will play against Levice (#4) at home in the next round. Lucenec will play against the league's second-placed Inter Bratislava and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Ninth-ranked Karlovka (9-27) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Levice (24-12) in Bratislava on Wednesday. The visitors from Levice managed to secure only two-point victory 76-74. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of Reggie Keely who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side Filip Lehman responded with 15 points and 4 assists. Karlovka's coach Peter Ivanovic tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Levice have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 24-12 record. Karlovka lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 27 games lost. Levice will meet higher ranked Prievidza (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Karlovka will play against Nova Ves (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 40 Iskra Svit defeated Nova Ves in a road game 90-78. Rieker KN smashed Handlova at home 79-59.
The best stats of 40th round was 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists by Evan Singletary of Iskra Svit.

Nova Ves - Iskra Svit 78-90

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Nova Ves (8-29) were defeated at home by sixth ranked Iskra Svit (20-17) 90-78 on Wednesday. Iskra Svit dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Nova Ves' 40. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Evan Singletary (185-94, college: Albany) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian point guard Sasa Avramovic (193-93, agency: BeoBasket) who added 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Iskra Svit players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Jamaican Phil Henry (203-91, college: E.New Mexico, agency: Global Sports Plaza) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and international forward Viktor Juricek (211-93, college: Texas A&M-CC) scored 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Iskra Svit have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 20-17 record. Nova Ves at the other side keep the tenth place with 29 games lost. Iskra Svit will meet at home higher ranked Rieker KN (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nova Ves will play against Karlovka (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

No shocking result in a game in Komarno where fifth ranked Rieker KN (20-16) smashed 8th ranked Handlova (16-21) 79-59 on Wednesday. Rieker KN forced 19 Handlova turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovenian forward Sinisa Bilic (201-89, agency: 011 Sports) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds and Slovenian guard Boban Tomic (190-88) who added 13 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four Rieker KN players scored in double figures. Rieker KN's coach Richard Duris used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Serbian power forward Slobodan Bozovic (207-79) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international power forward Peter Sedmak (207-85, agency: 011 Sports) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds.
