The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets.

The most exciting game of round 41 in the SBL took place in Svit. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Iskra Svit (20-18) to fifth ranked Rieker KN (21-16) 94-92 in the game for the fifth place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Iskra Svit. Rieker KN looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rieker KN made 7 blocks. Slovenian guard Boban Tomic (190-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 9 assists. Serbian guard Vuk Djordjevic (193-91) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international forward Pavol Losonsky (203-88, college: Cal-Irvine) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for Iskra Svit. Rieker KN maintains fifth place with 21-16 record. Iskra Svit at the other side keeps the sixth position with 18 games lost. Rieker KN are looking forward to face Nova Ves (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Iskra Svit will play against Nitra (#11) in Nitra and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
An interesting game for Prievidza (26-11) which hosted in Prievidza 4th placed Levice (24-13). Third ranked Prievidza managed to get a 12-point victory 79-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Levice. American-Iranian forward Mike Rostampour (203-91, college: Omaha) stepped up and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Omar Krayem chipped in 10 points and 9 assists. Serbian guard Dejan Djokic (187-89) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Prievidza have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains third place with 26-11 record having three points less than leader Kosice. Levice at the other side keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Prievidza will play against Karlovka (#9) in Bratislava in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Levice will play at home against the league's second-placed Inter Bratislava (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

They maintain second place with 28-9 record having just one point less than leader Kosice. Lucenec lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with 20 games lost. Inter Bratislava will meet Levice (#4) on the road in the next round. Lucenec will play against Karlovka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 41 bottom-ranked Nitra were smashed by Handlova on the road 101-74. Nova Ves lost to Karlovka on its own court 61-71.

Prievidza - Levice 79-67

An interesting game for Prievidza (26-11) which hosted in Prievidza 4th placed Levice (24-13). Third ranked Prievidza managed to get a 12-point victory 79-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Levice. Prievidza made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. American-Iranian forward Mike Rostampour (203-91, college: Omaha) stepped up and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American-Swedish point guard Omar Krayem (186-88, college: Cal.Baptist) chipped in 10 points and 9 assists. Five Prievidza players scored in double figures. Serbian guard Dejan Djokic (187-89) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Bosnian power forward Igor Josipovic (205-88) scored 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Prievidza have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains third place with 26-11 record having three points less than leader Kosice. Levice at the other side keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Prievidza will play against Karlovka (#9) in Bratislava in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Levice will play at home against the league's second-placed Inter Bratislava (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Handlova (17-21) crushed bottom-ranked Nitra (3-33) in MBK Handlova 101-74 on Saturday. Handlova shot 60.7 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Nitra's players. The former international power forward Peter Sedmak (207-85, agency: 011 Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and the former international point guard Nenad Milosevic (190-83, agency: 011 Sports) accounted for 18 points and 8 assists. Swingman Peter Pipiska (197-84) came up with 12 points and 6 rebounds and Jakub Meress (200-96) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Nitra in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Handlova maintains eighth place with 17-21 record. Nitra lost sixth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 33 lost games. Karlovka maintains ninth place with 10-27 record. Loser Nova Ves keep the tenth position with 30 games lost. Karlovka will meet higher ranked Lucenec (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nova Ves will play against Rieker KN in Komarno and hope to secure a win.
