Grosuplje wins D2 title and promotion to Telemach league - Apr 18, 2012

The 2011/12 season in D2 is over. Grosuplje won the title with 21-5 record. At the same time Grosuplje won the promotion to Telemach league. Litija and Nova Gorica are relegated to D2.

The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hrastnik won third quarter 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Grosuplje forced 22 Hrastnik turnovers. Power forward Blaz Lobe (202-F/C-84) scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Marko Antonijevic (189-81, agency: Court Side) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Grosuplje's coach Tone Krump allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Gasper Ovnik (188-82) responded with 23 points and forward Tadej Tusek (194-80, agency: World Sport Agency) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Terme Olimia was ahead by 7 points after three quarters before a 22-13 charge of Medvode, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Gasper Jeromen (-88) who scored 16 points. Forward Nik Gregorcic (195-90) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Medvode's coach Igor Keselj used entire bench in such tough game. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Konjice looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Power forward Bostjan Sivka (200-76) notched 26 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and guard Tomaz Jereb (192-91) supported him with 18 points and 8 assists. Even a double-double of 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by power forward Igor Spesic (204-83) did not help to save the game for Radenska. Guard Tadej Horvat (190-84) added 13 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
