Lithuania earned the first win at the international tournament in Seville. They rallied past Slovenia in the opening round of the tournament. Marijonas Petravicius (208-F/C-79, college: S.Carolina) scored 16 points to pace balanced effort from the Baltic team.
Lithuania looked better in the first half. Ramunas Butautass team gained a 22:17 lead after ten minutes of action. Slovenia could not pick up the slack and trailed by as many as 8 points at halftime. Lithuania stayed aggressive offensively and kept their opponents at bay after the major break. The Baltic side entered the fourth stanza up by 9 points. Slovenia finally showed some defensive consistency in the fourth term but it was not enough for the success. Lithuania escaped with a tough win at the end. Mindaugas Lukauskis (198-G-79) nailed 12 points for Lithuania. Ksistof Lavrinovic (210-C-79) added 11 points in the winning charge. Goran Dragic (194-G-86, agency: Interperformances) and Jaka Lakovic (186-G-78) responded with 14 points each for Slovenia. Nachbar and Lorbek netted 10 points apiece in defeat.
Lithuania will face Great Britain, while Slovenia will play against Spain tonight.

Krka defeted Rogaska 72-68 on road in the game of the Slovenian League Champioship Stage Round 9 to claim home court advantage throughout the playoffs. Rogaska-Krka 68-72: Krka opened the fourth quarter with eight points in a row for a 61-52 lead, the largest margin of the game, with less than five minutes left. Igor Tratnik (207-F-89) of Zlatorog will miss several month of action with a knee injury. He got injured during the practice last Friday. Tratnik re-joined Zlatorog last summer and averaging 16.9 points (ranked second), 7.5 rebounds (ranked fourth), 2.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.3 blocks per 32 minutes in 29 Slovenian League appearances. American Devin Oliver (204-SF-92) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Un.Olimpija, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8 (Second Stage). The 24-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, seven rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Helios (#6, 0-8), Second Stage bottom-ranked team 77-63.
