Top ranked Grosuplje (13-3) recorded its third loss in Ljubljana on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by twelfth ranked Jance Prit (4-12) 95-73. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Grosuplje. The game without a history. Jance Prit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Grosuplje helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was guard Dejan Mlakar (192-G-88) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Andraz Kavas (200-92) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Ales Kunc (208-73, college: Missouri St.) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Grosuplje's coach Tone Krump gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Jance Prit maintains twelfth place with 4-12 record. Grosuplje at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Triglav Strazisce. Jance Prit are looking forward to face league's second-placed Triglav Strazisce in Kranj in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Grosuplje will play at home against Litija and is hoping to win this game.
The game in Murska Sobota was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Sencur CP (12-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Radenska (7-9). Sencur CP defeated Radenska 89-78. Center Jure Erzen (203-75) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Roman Horvat contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Igor Spesic (204-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds for Radenska. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sencur CP have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-4 record behind leader Grosuplje. Newly promoted Radenska keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Sencur CP will play against Hrastnik (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Radenska will play against Splosna plovba in Portoroz and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Maribor was also quite interesting. Second ranked Triglav Strazisce (13-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Branik (10-6). Triglav Strazisce managed to secure a 7-point victory 74-67 on Saturday. Grega Dezman stepped up and scored 27 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Triglav Strazisce's coach Franci Podlipnik used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Matej Bratina responded with 18 points. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Triglav Strazisce. They used an opportunity after Grosuplje lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Branik dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. Triglav Strazisce will meet at home Jance Prit (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Branik will play against Medvode (#11) and hope to secure a win.

Other games of round 17 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Postojna defeated Hrastnik in a road game 77-70. Bottom-ranked Litija was smashed by Splosna plovba at home 55-74. Medvode won against Konjice on the opponent's court 100-87.
The best stats of 17th round was 38 points (!!!) by Dario Krejic of Medvode.


Hrastnik - Postojna 70-77
There was no surprise when 9th ranked Hrastnik (5-11) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Postojna (11-5) 77-70 on Saturday. Hrastnik was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Guard Tilen Zalar (193-87) stepped up and scored 25 points and 4 steals for the winners and center Milan Klepo (211-80) chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four Postojna players scored in double figures. Guard Ziga Percel (188-89) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Sanel Dzombic (198-78) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Postojna maintains fourth place with 11-5 record, which they share with Splosna plovba. Loser Hrastnik keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Konjice. Postojna will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hrastnik will play against Sencur CP (#3) in Kranj and hope to secure a win.

Litija - Splosna plovba 55-74
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Splosna plovba (11-5) smashed on the road bottom-ranked Litija (3-13) 74-55 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 19 points. Splosna plovba dominated on the defensive end, holding Litija to just 7 points in second quarter. Guard David Moro (199-86) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and power forward Adin Kavgic (193-87) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Splosna plovba players scored in double figures. Center Crt Lipovsek (194-88) responded with 9 points and 9 rebounds and forward Saso Ljubenovic (205-82) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Splosna plovba moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Postojna. Litija lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Splosna plovba will meet at home Radenska (#7) in the next round. Litija will play against the league's leader Grosuplje (#1) in Grosuplje and hope to secure a win.

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 10th ranked Konjice (5-11) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Medvode (4-11) 100-87 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 100-87. Medvode shot 62.7 percent from the field. Guard Dario Krejic (195-78) stepped up and scored 38 points (!!!) for the winners and guard Dejan Buncic (177-77) chipped in 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Medvode players scored in double figures. Power forward Bostjan Sivka (200-76) responded with 26 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Matic Ribic (186-85) scored 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Konjice's coach Slobodan Benic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Medvode maintains eleventh place with 4-11 record. Konjice lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Hrastnik. Medvode will meet at home higher ranked Branik (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Konjice will play against Terme Olimia in Podcetrtek and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
