Elektra (#5) forced the game against Zlatorog (#4) into an overtime, but lost by two points 75-77 on Wednesday night. The game took place in Sostanj. But the guests from Lasko were better at the end. Worth to mention a great performance of Luka Lapornik (195-G-88) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 6 rebounds. Zlatorog's coach Ivan Sunara used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Zlatorog (2-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with Krka. Elektra at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Zlatorog will face league's second-placed Helios in Domzale in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Elektra will play on the road against Sentjur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Union Olimpija - Sentjur 82-69
Very expected game in Ljubljana where bottom-ranked Sentjur (0-4) was defeated by top-ranked Union Olimpija (4-0) 82-69 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Union Olimpija. Sentjur was better in third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Union Olimpija made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds and Montenegrin forward Vladimir Dasic (206-88, agency: Beo Basket) who added 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side American center Travis Nelson (211-87, college: Minnesota St.) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Patrick Rembert (182-89, college: Cal-Irvine, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Union Olimpija have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Sentjur at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Union Olimpija will face Krka (#3) in Novo Mesto in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sentjur will play at home against Elektra in Sostanj and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Elektra was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 19-13 charge of Zlatorog, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 12-10. Zlatorog forced 20 Elektra turnovers. Elektra was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Luka Lapornik (195-88) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 6 rebounds and guard Nejc Strnad (190-83, agency: PEPI SPORT) who added 17 points during the contest. Zlatorog's coach Ivan Sunara used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side center Salih Nuhanovic (209-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks and naturalized Montenegrin center Mensud Julevic (200-85) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Elektra players scored in double figures. Zlatorog (2-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with Krka. Elektra at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Zlatorog will face league's second-placed Helios in Domzale in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Everything could happen in Domzale at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Helios and one of their biggest challengers Krka had identical 2-1 record. This time Helios used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Novo Mesto 79-78 on Wednesday night. Krka was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 assists and Croatian forward Drazen Bubnic (205-86) who added 21 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side international swingman Zoran Dragic (196-89) responded with 14 points and power forward Smiljan Pavic (210-80) scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Helios maintains second position with 3-1 record behind leader Polzela. Defending champion Krka keeps the third place with two games lost. Helios will face Zlatorog (#4) in Lasko in the next round. Krka will play at home against the league's leader Union Olimpija in Ljubljana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

GA Grosuplje (2SKL) confirmed in their roster 25-year old forward Matic Sirnik (198-91). He was a team leader there last season. In 22 2SKL games he was fourth best scorer with impressive 16.0ppg and averaged 8.1rpg and 1.8apg.
