Bulgaria did a great job against Slovenia on Tuesday celebrating 56-52 victory. Now Bulgarians have 2-2 record in Qualifying Group F in Tallinn and have a nice chance to reach the Quarterfinals. They will have to beat last ranked Belarus today. Slovenia already advanced to the next stage, despite this loss. They have 3-1 record now and will meet Poland today in the battle for the first place in this pool. Bulgaria was up 50-35 after 30 minutes of play and Slovenia shined in the finish coming to minus 3, but it was all from them in this meeting. Quarters: 14-17, 15-8, 21-10, 6-17. Borislava Hristova (180-F-96) paced the winning squad with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Teodora Dineva (175-G-96) scored 14 points and Maria Kamburova (182-F-96) added 8 points, plus 13 rebs. Slovenia got 13 pts and 9 rebs from Manca Jelenc (172-PG-96). Zala Lesek (187-F-97) (10 rebs) and Marusa Senicar (181-SF-97) (8 rebs) netted 7 points each.

Domzale-Grosuplje 51-56: Grosuplje close out the third quarter with eight straight points to hold a 44-38 advantage and never looked back the rest of the game. Domzale twice cut the deficit to one point, but Tinkara Zorana (171-G-99) and then Lea Mehle (178-SF-00) put the lead back up to three with a pair of free throws. On the next possession, Vanja Tajher (178-F-95) made just the second free throw for Domzale to make it 50-52. Domzale missed next five shots, while Tinkara Zorana (171-G-99) hit a lay-up plus a pair of free throws for Grosuplje. Tinkara Zorana (171-G-99)a came off the bench for 14 points, Lea Mehle scored 11 points including three 3-pointers and Merisa Dautovic (183-F/C-99) posted 10 points. Domzale was led by Lorena Molnar (192-C-98) with 19 points and 16 rebounds and Vanja Tajher scored 10 points.
Konjice-Triglav 35-62: After trailing 18-19 in the second quarter, Triglav went on a 23-3 run spanning halftime for a 41-22 lead. Aida Kalusic (187-C-87) finished with 16 points, Sara Meden (171-PG-94) added 13 and Marusa Senicar (183-SF-97) grabbed 10 rebounds. Konjice scored 21 points until midway through the second quarter and just 16 in the rest of the game. Ajsa Zdovc (183-F-91) was the lone scorer in double figures with 16 points and Katja Klancnik (177-F-90) grabbed 12 rebounds.

It allowed Athlete Celje to jump to the first place in the Slovenian SKL. Athlete Celje have a solid 8-1 record. In the team's last game Evans had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. She turned to be Athlete Celje's top player in her first season with the team. Hofstra University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Evans is league's best scorer averaging so far 16.9ppg. Evans is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 8.9rpg) and averages solid 2.1spg and 58.1% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Athlete Celje's star - young Larisa Ocvirk (184-SF-97). Ocvirk impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 16 rebounds. Of course together with Evans she helped Athlete Celje with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Maribor (#4, 4-3) 93-49. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Athlete Celje consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 8 matches. Ocvirk is one of the most experienced players at Athlete Celje and similarly like Shante Evans has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
The third best performed player last round was former international forward Anja Klavzar (179-F-90) of Ilrija (#3). Klavzar scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds. She was a key player of Ilrija, leading her team to a 64-52 win against the lower-ranked Grosbasket (#8, 1-6). Ilrija needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 2 lost games. Klavzar has a great season in Slovenia. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.3ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 8.7rpg (5th best).

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Slovenians who are currently playing abroad. This week's number one is an international point guard Nika Baric (169-92). She was the major contributor in an UMMC Ekaterinburg's victory against the closely-ranked Nadezhda Orenburg in the Russian PBL in Sunday night's game.

#1. This week's number one is an international point guard Nika Baric (169-92, currently plays in Russia). She was the major contributor in an UMMC Ekaterinburg's victory against the closely-ranked Nadezhda Orenburg (7-2) 67-53 in the Russian PBL in Sunday night's game.
Baric scored 13 points and added 3 passes in 31 minutes on the court.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. UMMC Ekaterinburg (9-0) is placed first in the PBL.
So far her team won all nine games in the Regular Season.
Baric is currently second on the list of best passers with 4.6apg.
She also averaged so far 8.0ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.9spg, 2FGP: 58.1%(18-31), 3FGP: 23.8% and FT: 71.4% in seven games she played so far.
Baric is currently a member of the Slovenian senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to an international point guard Teja Oblak (172-90, currently plays in EuroCup). She led her Slovakian team Good Angels to a victory over the closely-ranked Miskolc (0-4) 67-54 in the Eurocup last Wednesday.
Oblak was MVP of the game. She recorded 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
Good Angels Kosice (2-2) is placed third in group D.
There are only two games left until the end of the Eurocup Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Oblak has relatively good stats this season: 13.8ppg, 3.5rpg, 4.3apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 26.3%, 3FGP: 43.5% and FT: 83.3%.
She is in the roster of the Slovenian senior national team.
#3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Eva Lisec (192-95, currently plays in Hungary). Lisec was the main contributor in Atomeromu's victory against the league outsider PINKK-Pecsi (0-8) crushing them 72-52 in the Hungarian A Division on Saturday night.
She was the best player in that game. Lisec scored 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 27 minutes.
Atomeromu KSC Szekszard (6-2) is placed third in the A Division.
Lisec is ranked fifth on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best rebounders (fourth place).
She has individually a very good year with high stats. Lisec averages: 15.3ppg, 8.0rpg, 1.9apg, 2.4spg, 2FGP: 54.4% and FT: 70.6% in eight games.
She is also a member of the Slovenian senior national team.
#4. Guard Katarina Ristic (170-84, agency: Two Points, currently plays in EuroCup) could not help PINKK-Pecsi (0-4) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Ristic's very good performance the fourth-placed PINKK-Pecsi (0-4) was crushed 84-62 at home by the leading Abdullah Gul in the group B of Eurocup.
She was the top scorer with 24 points. Ristic also added 7 rebounds and 3 assists.
There are only two games left until the end of the Eurocup Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
It's Ristic's first season with the team.
This year she has very high stats. Ristic averages: 15.3ppg, 4.3rpg, 3.7apg and 2.3spg.
She used to play for the Slovenian national team
back in 2011.
#5. International swingman Maja Erkic (183-85, currently plays in Hungary) is a teammate of previously mentioned Eva Lisec and both played together in the last Hungarian A Division game.
Erkic contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider PINKK-Pecsi (0-8) crushing them 72-52.
She scored 9 points and added 3 assists in 30 minutes.
This year Erkic has relatively solid stats: 13.3ppg, 4.1rpg, 3.1apg and 1.4spg in eight games.
She plays currently for the Slovenian national team.
#6. Center Sandra Pirsic (196-84, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Gernika in their game against Gipuzkoa UPV (5-6) in the Spanish LFB. Pirsic cannot count it as her best performance.
She scored only 2 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 16 minutes.
Gernika lost 57-62 on their home court in Gernika to the lower-ranked (#8) Gipuzkoa UPV.
This year Pirsic's overall stats are: 4.4ppg and 3.5rpg in 11 games.
She is an international player who is currently on the senior Slovenian National Team roster.
#7. International guard Eva Rupnik (177-92, currently plays in Spain) contributed to ADBA's victory against the 11th-ranked Azkoitia (3-7) 59-46 in the Spanish LF2 (second division) last Saturday.
Rupnik was the top player that evening. She recorded 13 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and made 2 blocks.
ASAC Comunicaciones Adba Aviles (3-6) is placed tenth in Group A.
They ended the series of four consecutive loses.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
Rupnik has reliable stats this year: 11.1ppg, 3.1rpg, 2.7apg and 2.0spg.
She is also Slovenian national team player.
#8. Power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88, currently plays in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for San Salvatore (4-5) in their game against Team Crema (6-3) in the Italian Serie A2 (second division).
Ljubenovic scored only 4 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 22 minutes.
San Salvatore (#9) was badly defeated 70-51 on the road by the higher-ranked (#5) Team Crema in the Group A.
It was San Salvatore's third consecutive loss in a row.
But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen.
This year Ljubenovic's total stats are: 9.0ppg, 6.9rpg and 2.8spg in eight games.
She plays currently for the Slovenian national team.
#9. International forward Tina Jakovina (183-92, currently plays in Italy) managed to help Velco Vicenza to win against the seventh-ranked Alpo VF (4-5) 57-53 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) in Sunday night's game.
Jakovina scored only 3 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Velco Vicenza (7-1) is placed second in Group B.
It was her team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go.
Jakovina has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.4apg.
She is also in the roster of the Slovenian national team.
One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Slovenian passport:
#1.Marica Gajic (187-F/C-95, currently plays in Turkey) was the major contributor in a Girne Universitesi's surprising victory against the fifth-ranked Yakin Dogu BGD (4-2) 66-57 in the Turkish KBSL on Sunday night.
Gajic recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 11 rebounds.
Girne Universitesi (1-5) is placed second from the bottom (#13) in the KBSL.
It was her team's first victory after five consecutive loses.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
Gajic is ranked second on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best rebounders (first place).
She has individually a very good season with high stats. Gajic averages: 19.6ppg, 13.0rpg and 2.0apg.
She has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian.
